It’s day 2 of my own personal challenge, and that is to do as many of the weekly challenges on SCS as possible this week. This card is for today’s Color Challenge, CC106: Rusty Marigold. I don’t know why, but this card was difficult for me today. Couldn’t decide on a sentiment, etc., so I did something I normally don’t, and stamped it on the card.

The main image is one of the new sets I got from My Favorite Things. Using reinkers, I colored the petals flower with Marigold Morning and then just added a hint of Really Rust. The vase and the water is colored with Brocade Blue.

Mar 202007

What an exciting day we had yesterday here at my house! Kate, my oldest daughter, has been asking for a puppy since last November. Her dad and I told her no, that it was just too much, and I wasn’t going to take care of another dog. We had two at the time, both big outside dogs. Since that time, we lost our dalmatian and a few things have changed. I actually began to think that maybe a little house dog (that did not shed or yap) would be a good idea. So Lance and I got to talking Sunday night about how a little dog wouldn’t be bad and he sorta gave his okay. I told Kate yesterday when she came in from school that she could get a little dog, but there were a few conditions. It had to be small, didn’t shed and she was primarily responsible for the dog. I would be willing to babysit while she was at work and school, would walk the dog during the middle of the day, but that was it. Well, it didn’t take her long to start looking. She ran to the computer, pulled the ads from the paper and she found a local breeder. She came to me and asked me to drive up I65 with her, she found a puppy. Of course, she had to stop at the bank first (mom wasn’t paying for this either) and off we went. Within 45 minutes, we had a puppy.

Sidney

I am please to say, this is my first grandchild, Sydney. She is an 8 week old Shih Tzu and is absolutely adorable! I can’t wait to put a pink ribbon in her hair! Of course, when I mentioned this to my girls, they groaned rather loudly. Now bear in mind, as soon as we got her home, had dinner, we had to run right to Target to get the essential puppy supplies. The first purchase was a pink rhinestone encrusted collar – and I can’t put a ribbon in her hair! I think not!!!!!

I might add here, that for the first time in a long time I have seen my daughter laugh and smile! Kate has had some medical issues the last couple of years, and what a joy it is for me to see her smile that bright gorgeous smile of hers!
