Today’s challenge on Splitcoast is the Limited Supply Challenge, LSC108 – Bundle of Joy. The object today is to create a neutral baby card for either a boy or a girl. So that eliminates pinks and blues! Not having any need for baby stamps until recently, I don’t have many. You can bet that I will be changing that soon though. It seems that more and more of my friends are becoming grandparents and there are more showers to attend. The little buggy stamp I used today probably came from a bin at Big Lots, since I probably wouldn’t have bought it any other time unless I found it dirt cheap!

I stamped the buggy image in Black Stazon and then water colored it with reinkers. It is layered on Mellow Moss and the edges are trimmed using my Fiskars scalloped edged scissors. A Signo white gel pen was used to make the little dots around the edges. The background panel is a piece of Whisper White cardstock run through the Cuttlebug using the D’vine Swirl embossing folder and then layered on Mellow Moss paper. To get the sentiment, using the large oval punch, I punched through both layers of paper and stamped the sentiment in Mellow Moss directly on the white card base. I had this cute little ribbon in my stash, and don’t even know where I got it now, but probably Big Lots! I love to junk store and Big Lots is one of my favorites!

  1. This is beautiful…I can never get my scallops to look this beautiful with just scissors! All in all, another super creation!

  2. Love this card! The embossed white layer really makes the card look elegant and I love that you rounded the corners! Cool!

  3. Love this! The raised embossed panel is fab and I love the punch out with the saying behind, looks great!

  4. Sherry – love, love, love your card and cards!!!! The scalloped scissors are sometimes such a snarl to use – but you did a perfect edge on your matting. Love the ribbon wrapping – I finally figured out that it’s just wrapped around the white embossed front of the card – that took me awhile. You lucked out on that stamp – how cute it is with the cuttlebug embossing. Thanks for posting!!!! LindaB

  6. This is adorable, Sherry! Love that buggy! It’s funny…there was a time I thought I didn’t need a lot of baby stamps because all my friends were done having babies. Then all my friends’ babies started having babies! I love baby cards!

  7. Wow! That’s adorable! Love your coloring and how you see the saying through the punched out oval. 🙂
