I would say Good Morning, but I think it’s afternoon where I am now. I’ve lost part of my day today and it is so unlike me! For some unknown reason, I didn’t get to sleep last night until around 12:00 a.m., woke up at 3:00 and finally crawled out of bed at 4:00. At 7:00 I went back to bed and finally got moving around 9:30. So here it is 1:00 in the afternoon and I have gotten absolutely nothing accomplished today – except the card I’m about to show you!

Today is the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast today and true to my promise to a good friend, I won’t miss it! Now I checked on this about 4:00 a.m., this morning but it’s taken me this long to get it done! I got to playing with some different ways to watercolor last night and wanted to try today to incorporate some of it into my card today. All stamps I’ve used today are from My Favorite Things, but I’ve used three different sets. I started out by stamping the main image from You Take the Cake in Timber Brown Stazon on watercolor paper. I watered the image with reinkers and some watercolor brushes but the image looked a little dull. So I went back over some of the areas with markers and then blended the color with Tsukineko fantastix brush point blenders that I picked up from Eclectic Paperie. I had already picked my background papers from the Retro mat stack so matching the colors was quite easy. Using the polka dot background stamp from Let’s Go For a Walk, I stamped the entire front of the card base and the background panel for the image in Versamark. I layered both the image and background on Chocolate Chip, wrapped the ribbon around the bottom two layers to resemble a package, tied a bow, and then raised the image panel on two layers of mounting tape. The sentiment is from Bundles of Bouquets and is stamped on watercolor paper that I sponged the edges of in Tempting Turquoise. I mounted a 1″ circle and the raised the sentiment up on Chocolate Chip that was punched using my new Designer Label punch (which I’ve had for almost two weeks and had to dig out of the box it came in – almost forgot I ordered it). The edges of the main card and the background panel are also sponged in Tempting Turquoise.
