I have so much to show and tell today! First, we are surviving without Daughter #2 at home. She calls enough that we keep in touch several times a day. So for all you wondering, my house is still clean and the laundry room isn’t piled to the rafters yet.

Second, Lizzie Anne Designs is having a Sneak Peek of new sets schedule for release on September 10. There will be 8 new Little Bits™ stamp sets and 8 new Simply Singles™ released and you can get a Sneak Peek of 4 new sets every day for 4 days. You can check it out here.

Speaking of Lizzie Anne, I started working on a card last night to send to Daughter #2, since I feel she’s gonna need some mail once a week or so – gotta let her know we miss her a little! Right before she left I received some new BasicGrey papers and fibers from Jacksonbelle Embellishments and Mallory went nuts over the Obscure pad. So, since I hadn’t made a card with it yet, I thought my first should be to her. This card is 5 ½ x 5 ½ and has a hinged front. Holes were punched along the hinge and the fibers tied off to close that part of the card. All the designer papers were sewn to the layers on my handy-dandy sewing machine.

You Rock

The third thing today, is that it is Sketch Challenge Day on Splitcoast. We all know how Roxie gets after me if I miss the sketch challenge – don’t care to have her coming after me with all those wet noodles today! Of course, I was still up last night when she posted, but forgot to look – duh! Didn’t sleep well and was up and at ‘em at 4:30 or so this morning, so I’ve had a little time to stamp this morning. Heck I even read the morning paper this morning – haven’t done that in months!

Anyhoo, here’s my card for the Sketch Challenge today. All the edges of the SU Outlaw Designer Paper were sponged with Tim Holtz Ranger Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and the stamping of the medallion was done with a combination of the Corduroy Distress Ink and Dried Marigold Distress Ink. Did just a little distressing with scissors and then sponged those edges too. This is a fun sketch and one I think I’ll try again!

  1. Wow, that’s a lot of catching up you did today. I love, love, love the card you did for your daughter. Mine leaves in two weeks and I think I will make her a card too. Mine is going into 5th year so she won’t need a card once a week, but I do agree that your daughter will. Good luck to her. I’m sure your household is a busy one right now.

  2. i love both of your cards… but the second one… oh my god! it is wonderful – iam having the hardest time with these sets and i have it EVERYTHING…. sherry, is it possible that you can tell a bit about these ranger inks? i have that distress inkpad but i dont really know what do do with it. what is so different about it compared to su’ brown color pads? is there a special technique how to use them? i also wondered… do you have a reliable retailer were to buy the re-inkers? i looked arround michaels and joanns here in michigan sell only the pads.

thank you for sharing your ideas with us!
