I’ve got to tell ya, I don’t understand what is going on around here this week! You would think that I could get something done and have time in the studio too. I’ve been getting up early enough – no sleepin’ in this week. The alarm is set for 7:00 but yet I’ve gotten up anywhere from 4:00 to 6:00 a.m., all week. Get my coffee, nestle in on the couch to check emails and what not, hope the Splitcoast Challenge has been posted, and plot my day. Now the major plan for every day is to spend time in the studio stamping – hasn’t happened at all this week. The kids are gone, the house is clean, the laundry is caught up, and I still can’t get it together.

Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the wayward freshman daughter of mine calls every 30 minutes. She is 3 hours from home and I’ve talked to her more in the last 2 weeks than I did all summer long. Before you even think – ah how sweet, she misses her mommy – stop right there! Daughter #2 is not the most computer literate of my 2 daughters, and she definitely has had her fair share of problems this week. We have spent hours on the phone trying to get her computer up to par and while waiting for downloads and installations, we have been able to chat about her classes and everyday things. One good thing I can say, that even though she says goodbye in total frustration, she always ends the phone call with “I love you Mom.” Yep – that’s my girl!!!

Now that I’ve digressed just a little, I have finally gotten my challenge card done for the Ways to Use it Challenge on Splitcoast today. Even though it’s taken the better part of the day, it wasn’t because the card itself is complicated – but tons of interruptions every time I walk into the studio. Today’s challenge is to make a Halloween card, and my most recent set is one from My Favorite Things called Fright Night. I colored the image with Prismacolored pencils and Turpenoid, found some paper that I thought looked like a night sky. The image is raised on mounting tape and the fibers are some left over from my trip to Orlando Stampfest.
