I have some exciting news this morning! Well, it’s exciting for me and I hope that it is as equally exciting for you. When Jeanne and I were in Orlando, we also got to meet Candy Williams. She came over to the hotel where Stampfest was held and spent the day with us. We laughed, shopped and just had a fabulous day together. The more we shopped together that day, we realized that we all had one thing in common – a wicked sense of humor. When one of us would find something in a booth, we automatically grabbed 2 more of the same thing and handed them back to the others. At some point during the day, probably when we were kicking back in the room, we started talking about how much fun it would be for us to do a blog challenge with our recently purchased items, since we all had the same thing. Now there is only one problem with this – Candy has yet to start a blog. Jeanne and I were talking Saturday and decided that it was time for us to run with the blog challenge.

I asked Jeanne to pick the first challenge that we were going to post, and she has picked glitter. Now here comes the fun part! We would like you to participate with us. All you have to do is make a card using glitter, upload it to your blog and then come back and post a link to either my blog or Jeanne’s blog, Inky Paws. If you are not a blogger, but a member of SCS and want to participate, upload your card to your gallery on Splitcoast (remember though that if you are not a Fan Club Member, you will need to wait to upload until Monday), use the keyword JBWW (just because we wanna) and then post a link here or on Jeanne’s Blog, Inky Paws.

Here’s my card for the first JBWW Blog Challenge. I’ve had an idea in mind ever since I saw this set on Jacksonbelle Embellishments. I actually tried to make it this past week, but the mojo just wasn’t working. The glitter kicked it in for me however, and I finally got it done.

JBWW Believe

The card is a tall card, 4″ x 8-1/2″, made to fit a regular sized business envelope or just small enough to fit in a padded envelope (which is how I mail all of my cards). The background paper is from DCWV Once Upon a Time Mat Stack, which has just a hint of glitter on most of the papers. The stamps are From the Garden by Fancy Pants Designs. I stamped the wings in Versamark and embossed with Dazzling Diamond Dust. The heart was stamped over the wings. I then stamped a second heart image and filled in the designs on the heart with Crystal Stickles and sprinkled Diamond Gold Ultra Fine Glitter over the Stickles. The edges of all the DP were sponged with Tim Holtz Ranger Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and then sewn to a background layer of Bravo Burgundy.

Jeanne and I hope you enjoy the challenge, and we’ll be back next Sunday with another JBWW Blog Challenge!
