WOW it’s hard to believe that it’s Friday already! I didn’t get any stamping done yesterday. I shopped with my sister most of the day. We headed out to the Dollar General Store, Target and Hobby Lobby, and then met our mother and aunt for lunch. I got some great buys at Target (stuff I wasn’t even looking for), and had a fun time with my sister. I had made up my mind that if I was actually leaving the house for a day, she was too! My best buy of the day – a rolling briefcase. I had been thinking about getting one since my trip to Florida. This laptop gets just a little heavy. We walked down the luggage aisle and one caught my eye but I really wasn’t prepared to pay $60 for a briefcase. As I rounded the corner – CLEARANCE! Oh WOO HOO my type of display. There on the bottom shelf, calling my name, was a rolling briefcase on clearance for $15. It has originally been $60. Tan, nice looks, big enough to pack clothes in for an overnight trip, place for my laptop and other accessories. I pulled it off the shelf, went through it, and the handle was broke and wouldn’t lock. I was almost tempted to put it in the cart, when my eyes wandered to the top shelf – and there was one more! WOO HOO – it made it to my cart, into the trunk of my car and now sits in my bedroom waiting for the upcoming trip to the Pampered Stampers Retreat in Cincinnati. There were other pieces of luggage that matched and I was so tempted to get them, but decided that I had enough at home as it was. I only needed the briefcase. My sister called last night and she had been back to Target – all of it was gone. I’m so glad I found it when I did and didn’t hesitate.

For the last week or so I have felt the need to get back to basic stamping. I need to recharge the creative process and try new approaches. When I checked in on the Splitcoaststampers Limited Supply Challenge this afternoon, I was so happy. The challenge today is to use limited layers. Any simple embellishments, stamps, etc., just keep the layers to a minimum. I have had an idea in head for a few weeks now and new without a doubt that this idea would fit today’s challenge.

Such a simple card, it took me a mere 15 minutes to make it, but only because I didn’t allow the Puffy Paint to dry first – I used the heat gun. I am tickled with the card and it actually came out exactly as I saw it in my head.

I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to size, covered it with Tulip White Puffy Paint and sprinkled with glitter. The holly is from the Lizzie Anne Designs Glad Tidings set. I colored the stamp with markers, stamped it out and then embossed with Dazzling Diamond Dust. The holly is raised on mounting tape just for the fun of it.
