Well, I have to tell you – It’s been a busy couple of days! I left here at 1:00 p.m., yesterday to pick up Mallory, and us got back home around 5:00 p.m. Luckily she got a ride just about an hour and a half from home, and I didn’t have to drive the full three hours up and three hours back. The roads weren’t too bad, and I was able to drive just about 5 miles under the speed limit. Trust me when I tell you that I’m normally about 5 miles over the speed limit, so for me that was good! The funniest part was when I pulled in the garage and my car was covered in ice. Not just ice, but droplets of ice that were about 3 inches thick and going in the direction of the wind. Darn I should have taken a picture. Anyhoo, Mallory was happy to be home and the pups were very excited to see her as you can tell from the pictures below.

Here’s Mallory snuggling with Miss Ellie.

And then, not to be left out, Sydney had to get in the mix.

Mallory and pups

It snowed all through the night, and when I woke up this morning I just had to take one more picture from my front porch. This is one of my favorite views when it snows. This is directly across the street looking into the backyard of the house on the corner.

Saturday Morning Snow

All in all, I think we have ended up with somewhere between 12 and 13 inches. This time the snow followed the path of the Ohio River and actually got into the valley. We haven’t had a snow like this in maybe four years. Believe it or not, we have had ice storms the last three Tuesdays, and our county is out of salt. So, a State of Emergency was declared and none of the side roads have been plowed this time.

Anyhoo, I had Stamp Club scheduled this morning. It was supposed to have been last Saturday, but we rescheduled for today. Now I knew this morning that none of my group was going to go out today. We were under a State of Emergency. I began calling the Club Members and cancelling. One of them, Terri, who lives out in the next town, said hey I have 4-wheel drive and this is a stamping emergency, I’ll be there. Her sister, Bev, who lives just a couple of blocks from me, said I’ll be limping over. Well, here they are in their stamping glory.

Terri and Bev

Bad Bev is on the right and Terri is on the left. The other two chose not to get out today, and will be coming in on Tuesday to stamp with me.

I normally don’t show the project that we work on in Club, but today I think I will. They had requested to work with chipboard, and every project we did today used chipboard in one fashion or another. The following are two of the three projects we did. The layout of the first one is taken from this week’s SCS Sketch Challenge. Both Bev and Terri are members of SCS. Bev checks out the challenges and has a gallery. Terri does not and oh how I wish she did.

Stamp Club Project 2

The chipboard on the above card is the flower on the left-hand side. We used a thin chipboard coaster, Cuttlebug dies and the Cuttlebug to make the flower.

This second project, is made with two thick chipboard coasters and SU Alphabet Chipboard. Just for fun, I had them make a small book that they can carry in their purse, using the Bind-it-All.

Stamp Club BIA Project

Mallory’s ride to Florida just came in the door. I guess they’ll rest a bit and then head out to the sun, sand and surf. Such a collegiate right of passage – Spring Break in Florida! Lucky kids!!!!!
