Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and you’re not starting your week off one hour late. It was in the 50’s here yesterday and most of the snow has melted and the roads are clear. Thank goodness, since it was on the news last night how Jeffersonville is on the last dredges of their salt supply.

Mallory and her friends left here Saturday night for Florida. She called last night and they made it safely with no problems. I know those kids are going to have a fabulous time! I can still remember my first College Spring Break in Florida – how could I forget – that is where I met my husband, Lance. We actually lived in the same dorm and he worked in the dorm cafeteria. However, I had only met him once in a friend’s room and didn’t pay that much attention to him. I went to Florida with some friends, and he went to Florida with some friends, one of them being the same friend whose room I met in him. Now here are three girls thinking that we really don’t want to run into those guys. The first day on the beach who walks up, but Lance and his friends. We ended up hanging out with them all week and when we got back to school, Lance and I started seeing each other. That was 30 years ago this month.

Enough reminiscing, let’s get to some stamping. On Friday this week, Hanna Stamps is releasing five new sets. I have a couple of previews for you today! The first one is from the new set, My Best Friend. I picked one stamp from this set to work with, because I couldn’t resist the prissy little dog! Doesn’t she just look like a well-heeled, spoiled pup?

March Release My Best Friend

I stamped the main image in Brilliance Graphite Black and then colored it with Copic Markers. For some accents on the dog house, I added Ranger Frosted Stickles to the dots on the house. Once it was dry, I masked the image and lightly airbrushed Cool Shadow in the background with the Copic Airbrush System. The image was then punched out using a 2″ Marvy Uchida Punch and matted on 2-1/2″ and 3″ layers of different cardstock. I used the Inkssentials White Opaque Pen for the dots on the pink layer, and Ranger White Opal Liquid Pearls were placed on the scallops of both pieces of the brown. My background paper, SU Berry Bliss, as sewn to another layer of cardstock on the sewing machine, and then attached to the card base of Chocolate Chip.

The second preview is from the new set, Mikey. He so reminds me of a college student and since we are dealing with Spring Break, he just had to have a tan.

Mikey

All the images were stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black and then colored with Copic Markers. Each image was then punched out using a 1-3/8″ square punch and matted on SU Blue Bayou what had been punched out using the 1-1/4″ square punch. The six individual squares were then matted on a piece of SU River Rock. Using an artist pen, I doodled around each square and on the River Rock. The background paper, SU Western Sky, was matted on Soft Sky. Both the image panel and the panel behind it are raised with mounting tape. The sentiment is stamped directly on the designer paper. Oh and since this is a guy card, no ribbon! Just piercing, brads and photo corners.

I’m sorry I don’t have product photos today for those of you who like them. I worked on these cards over the weekend and never stopped long enough to get a photo. However, I did notice on Kristi’s blog today, that she is now offering Seasonal Sets of Copic Markers. For those of you wanting the guess work taken out of choosing what colors you should get, you need to check this out.

Until tomorrow!

  1. Love the Spring Break story. Happy 30th Spring Break anniversary. I love that little “prissy” dog. Reminds me of my daughter’s (really my dog) Lucy, a Peeka-Poo. A little yappy, but we (I) love her anyway. Thanks for the smile.

  2. I have got to have this stamp! Not until Friday? Ugh, LOL! I, of course, have Chihuahua’s and collect stamps of them. This one is just too cute! You did a fabulous job with Miss Priss 🙂 Congrats on 30 years, wow!

  6. Hanna Stamps always come up with the newest, hottest and hippest images that everyone will want and need, including me of course.
Love the “Guy” card Sherry, especially since he’s got a wonderful tan in the midst of this winter rotten weather 🙂 Tell me, does he have any tan lines, or any clothes to change into, that might spark some of the ladies’ interest around here ~ mainly ME!?!?!? haaa ! I know, could you ask Kristi if we could have a male image that we could dress with our choice of clothing items ~ You know like a pair of jeans, or maybe a jacket and tie, or a ball cap with sunglasses(((hey I smell a great marketing idea! HA))) but the one I really REALLY want to see, is MY male stamp dressed in a Speedo getting ready for the beach :)))) ha ha ha ha

Yes I admit it, I’m warped and I’m bad, and I’m so sick and tired of this snow that forever seems to be dumping on us ! C’mon Spring and Hanna’s new releases.

  7. Oh my!!
I just LOVE that doggie card!!!
