Good Wednesday Afternoon! It’s taken me awhile to get to the rubber room today, but I finally made it. I had an appointment this morning for some new phone installation which took a little longer. I also needed to run a few errands this morning – the pups got a car ride – and it was nice to get out of the house for a little bit! It’s a beautiful day here today, the sun is shining and the skies are blue! I wish it were warm enough to get out in the flower beds and work a bit, but I’m afraid that is gonna have to wait a month or so.

When I finally had internet service, this morning I checked in over at Splitcoast, in particular the Sketch Challenge. It is a great sketch today and one that I think I might be using quite often. Daughter #1 informed me the other day that she didn’t get a mom-made card for her birthday. Hmmmm, the more I think about it, I think she’ll be getting this one!

The image was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black and then colored with Copic Markers. It was then punched out using a 2″ Marvy Uchida Scalloped Punch and matted on layers punched with 2-1/2″ and 3″ Marvy Uchida punches. The cherry is highlighted with Ranger Glossy Accents and the black dots were made with a Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen. The dots and doodles on the rest of the card were made with the Inkssentials White Opaque Pen. The black scalloped circle is outlined with Ranger Liquid Pearls (which, BTW, I was not able to keep my fingers out of). The background panels were made with different elements from the In the Background set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I don’t know why, but this image of the ice cream soda reminded so much of the 50’s, drive-ins and carhops, that I just had to go with turquoise, pink and black. To me, they are the ultimate 50’s colors!
