Good Wednesday morning! Remember this picture I showed you just a few weeks ago?

Saturday Morning Snow

Well, this is what I have today – flooding! It has rained and rained and rained. This first photo is taken from my side yard looking down the street.

Flooded Street

Here’s a photo of my side yard. Now this photo is important because this is the side of the house where my new stamp room is located. I also want to watch and see how much water accumulates in this area.

Then walking back into the garage, I saw these daffodils. Yep, daffodils in bloom.

Before I came up from the stamp room, I had been working feverishly picking up carpet squares and suctioning up water with the carpet cleaner. I had always Kate if her room was wet when it rained like this – she would just shrug it off. Okay, so now I know and this is the reason that nothing, and I mean nothing is sitting directly on the floor.

While cleaning up water, I was able to make a card for today’s Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. Great sketch today – It’s perfect for using up little scraps of designer paper!

I stamped the chocolate image and then colored it with Copic Markers. It actually looked good, until I decided to add some Glossy Accents to the chocolate to make it look glossy. It took away from the coloring and plus, when I was trimming the image, it smudged just a bit. Oh well, it does happen! I stitched up the image panel on a layer of pink cardstock, and it is raised on mounting tape. I chose pink for my card base, and then used scraps of BasicGrey Blush to make the panels. All the panels are stitched together and then I distressed the top and bottom edges with my distressing tool. This panel was then affixed to the card front.

  1. Oh Sherry I can sympathize with the water issues.
My 14 yr old 5′ 9″ son walked out back the other day and was in water up to his knees and that was a puddle about 1/4 acre. My back yard was a Lake!! Yikes.
Before I put a perimeter drain in my basement I could easily have 3 feet of water in my basement when it rained. Thank God that is fixed.

Your card is gorgeous. I may have to make one with these colros now!

  2. WOW!
I hope your stamp room dries out soon!!
We are not thawed yet up here (and missed the last to storm fronts) but also since we live blocks from Lake Huron on a hill of sand–no basement.

I love this card–and this has got to be my favorite stamp set by Lizzie Ann so far!! I love the warm, cozy yet delicate feel of this card. (sorry–those are the best words I can find to describe it).

And, as always, thanks for taking the time to show the supplies. I really appreciate it!!

    Stay dry!

  3. Ineed chocolate today…..can you send this to me? How totally adorable. I love the Basic Grey. I can’t believe you have water coming into your basement. Ugh!

  4. But Sherry….look at that GREEN grass you have…and daffodils! Ack…I am soooooo jealous! Here in New England it *snowed* today 🙁 Not much, admittedly, but it’s so hard to take this time of year. I lived in Bloomington, IN for 10 years and sure do miss the springtime, wet or no.

So, yes, *need* chocolate 😉 Great card!

  5. I’m jealous that you have bulbs blooming already ~ we still have about six inches of snow on the ground and about another five weeks, before we see what is beneath, and it starts to warm up.

Your card is darling! Sorry, I don’t see any of the “imperfections” you pointed out ~ I think it looks good enough to eat! And stop using that cutie-patootie Lizzie Anne set, “Petite Phrases”, {*Arggh*} as I’m trying to stay on budget this month, (for a change! ha) so I was only able to order Lizzie’s new “Far East” set.

P.S. Thanks for displaying the colour ID’s on the ends of the Sketchers :0)

  6. Wonderful way to use those scraps. I just can’t stand to throw any pieces away.

  7. Ooh la la, love your sketch challenge card! Gorgeous papers and ribbon- perfect! Still haven’t gotten mine done- I’ve been “in progress” all day basically. LOL. Your flooding looks similar to where I live in Ohio right now… but you have a beautiful neighborhood with all those tree lined streets!!

  8. Just wanted to tell you I love coming and seeing all your new creations… those lizzie anne stamps are just the sweetest!

Sorry about the sucky weather you’ve been having!!

  9. I cannot believe you were actually able to stamp while your stamp room was taking on water…That is dedication! The card is fantastic. I hope your play room dries out quickly!

  10. I luv this card and the Basic Grey looks awesome!

I have to admit that I’m jealous of your weather since I live in AZ. We don’t get a lot of rain here and I luv the rain.
