Well, must to my surprise and astonishment, Julie Buhler has bestowed the Arte Y Pico award to me!

There are 5 rules attached to this and they are:

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone. Click on her name above to visit her blog.

3)Each award winner has to show the award that she has been given, by the one aforementioned.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) To show these rules. The 5 blogs that I choose are:

  1. Kittie Caracciolo
  2. Leslie Miller
  3. Trudee Sauer
  4. Jeanne Streiff

Happy Tuesday morning! Today is the day, April 1st, and Rubbernecker Stamp Company releases KK Originals today! KK Originals is a unique and fresh line of stamps by Kathy Kaberline, designed with her own unique twist. Rubbernecker Stamp Company has acquired distribution rights to this diverse line and we are so excited to be working with the images.

It’s also Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker today. You’ll have to follow the clues to find the treasure, and I have the first clue. Your search will begin in the Flower Collection of KK Originals. Treasure Hunt Blog Candy is being offered by Shelly and Candy today. You’ll want to visit their blogs to see more KK samples and to leave a comment for blog candy. If this is your first visit on a Treasure Hunt Tuesday, you can find all the details on the Rubbernecker Home Page.

My card today is made with three different images from KK Originals.

KK Flourish Bday

The bouquet was stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black and then colored with Copic Markers. To make the frame, I cut the image out and embossed it with a square Nestability. To make the white frame around the image, I left the die cut square in the Nestability, using it has a mask, and airbrushed the blue background. The bottom two image panels were also cut and embossed with square Nestabilities. The background panel is a flourish randomly stamped with light blue ink on light blue paper. The sentiment was stamped directly on the background with Archival Jet Black.

Well, I had to come back and add another card. After running errands this morning and stopping to visit my mother, I decided I needed to do today’s Splitcoast Color Challenge. While I was working on the image, I realized that it would also fit this week’s Try a New Technique Challenge

CC160

This card is actually inspired by the movie Steel Magnolias. One of my favorite movies and one that I frequently quote. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is “You know I love you more than my luggage.” The other day I was flipping through my stamps and ran across this suitcase. Well, I just couldn’t help myself – I immediately thought of the sentiment Love Ya to go with the image.

I stamped the suitcase and started coloring it, when it occurred to me that I could layer all the travel decals. So, I stamped the suitcase out two more times and colored just the decals and cut them out. The layout of the card just came to be. I had no idea what I was doing, but did cut out circles with Nestabilities, and started working from there. At first, I had cut the middle panel to be a diamond, and then didn’t like it when I had it laid out – hence the corner panel. I was going to computer generate the rest of the sentiment – more than my luggage – for the front of the card, but when I finally found the layout, it wouldn’t work. More than my luggage can be the inside sentiment.
