Good Tuesday morning! Before I go off babbling today, I think I’ll get the formalities out of the way first. It’s TREASURE HUNT TUESDAY @ RUBBERNECKER today! Ya’ll know that I’ve got some Tawdry Treats that I posted yesterday. Don’t forget to leave me a comment, sharing your favorite book and why. I will be picking the winner tonight and posting in the morning. Well, Leslie also has some Blog Candy for you today and Linda has the first clue in your hunt for the treasure. While you are treasure hunting, be sure to stop by the Rubbernecker home page and check out all the deets on the Treasure Hunt, look over all the specials and see how you can earn free stamps and shipping. EDITED TO ADD: THERE ARE NO CLUES TODAY BECAUSE DAVE IS TRAVELING. THE PRIZE CAN BE FOUND IN THE GET WELL SECTION.

Now I can babble a bit! Yesterday I took the pups to a new groomer. That’s a long story in itself, and I won’t bore you with the details of how I ended up looking for a new groomer. However, let me just say that when one pays for services, one expects to be talked to in a relatively civil manner, regardless if it is an office assistant or the person supplying the services. Anyhoo, my sister, Carrie, went along with me yesterday and after we dropped the pups off, we ended up at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Now, it is no secret that I can’t see! I wear tri-focals for pity sake and if Mallory is home she always applies whatever eye makeup I might put on. So here’s my dilemma. I can’t see to tweeze my own eyebrows. I have to have the glasses on, sit in front of a magnifying mirror, and be a contortionist just to see. Even then I never see them all or simply can’t get to them. Now my sister is probably worse off than I am. She has always had bad eyesight and has worn glasses since we were children. Actually, I remember when she did get her glasses and could see for the first time.

Carrie has been talking for a while about a mirror at Merle Norman that she has been trying to get them to sell her one of. It’s actually on their own counter mirrors and must be ordered by them as a supply. I thought it was kinda pricey for a mirror, but I must admit that when I looked at myself in it today, I was amazed that I could see without my glasses. Before we ventured into Merle Norman however, we were in Bed, Bath and Beyond. Just browsing, but we ended up in the mirror section. Oh my BADNESS! I saw it, the perfect mirror. 10X magnifying power, daytime lights, swivel base . . . AND I could see my eyebrows without my glasses. Hell, I could see every pore, blemish and stray hair on my face. A little scary – YES! BUT, I was seeing without my glasses on! I could actually get to those stray hairs about the glasses that I never see. I immediately snatched up a box while Carrie ran for a cart. We both bought one! She still wants the one from Merle Norman, but oh my goodness – what a find! Here it is at Bed, Bath and Beyond so you can all see for yourselves. Anyway, I’m in heaven. I couldn’t wait to get home and work on the eyebrows!

I suppose you are probably bored with my babbling by now and would like to see some stamping. As I’ve stated earlier, I’ve been working like a fiend on samples for the Rubbernecker Booth at the upcoming Akron show. I thought I might share one of those today.

Gone Fishin’

I stamped the image of the fishing basket first, masked it off, and then stamped the image of the vest. The Gone Fishin’ sign and lure were stamped onto a separate piece of paper. All the images were colored with Copic Markers, and the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. All the edges of the background paper were distressed and then sponged before layering them on the different panels. The sign was trimmed out and then wire was added as the hanger for the sign. The panels for the fishing lure were cut out with circle Nestabilities.
