The blog candy I’m giving away is a surprise gift from Lizzie Anne Designs. If you want a chance at this fun gift, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favorite summer dessert is. Mine is my mother’s Banana Split Cake. mmmm mmmm good! I thought I had the recipe, but can’t find it. I’ll get it from mom and share it with later. It is a layered delight of bananas, pineapple, cool whip, cream cheese, vanilla pudding all with a graham cracker base.
I went downstairs late last night with an idea for my card today. Needless to say, the minute I turned on the light everything changed. I ended up instead with this tag.
The flowers in the background and the butterflies were stamped with a Gold Metallic Paint Dabber, and the different colors of Adirondack inks were wiped over the tags. The excess ink was wiped off with a towel, leaving the gold paint to shine through. The butterflies were cut out, wire added for their anntenae, and then they were raised on mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of the second tag. The edges of the main tag and the sentiment were sponged with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

I just bought a gorgeous watermelon today … stuck it into the ‘fridge … and we’re waiting for Wednesday! Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaawwww! It will be the first watermelon for the Texas Branch of the Gerard’s! Y’alllll come!! 😉

My favorite summer dessert would be fresh straberry shortcake made with old-fashioned, homemade biscuits with lots of berries and berry juice. No need for whipped cream or ice cream for me if you have a nice hot biscuit and berries.

Stop already with the banana split cake…..you’re making me hungry! My MIL makes an angel food cake, and layered it with cool whip/pudding, pineapple, and strawberries. I love that!

Oh yumm….I just love home made strawberry shortcake…you know, with the homemade shortcake! Whipped cream and fresh strawberries! I just made some over the weekend and it was delicious! My hubby had never had it with home baked shortcake before, only the spongy cake things from the store. He really enjoyed this when I made it for him, it’s one of his favs now too!

Sliced peaches would be my choice for a good summertime dessert. When I was a kid, we had three peach trees on our property — a never-ending supply!

My favorite dessert in the summer is a peach pie I make, I got the recipe over 30 years ago from an elderly neighbor, it is sooooooooooo yummy, so as to not to be outdown, another neighbor gave me a different one, and its yummy, too, these are not your run of the mill peach pies, these so easy and to die for…mmmm good!

Love this card! Au Naturale has been on my wish list for a long time. This may have put me over the edge! I have the sentiments set. I love the sound of Banana Split Cake. I love ice cream, Black Jack Cherry (Publix), but I’m eager to hear about this recipe. I have a favorite (Chocolate Eclair Dessert) that I make, and everyone loves it too. It’s layers of graham crackers, French vanilla pudding with Cool Whip, and topped with milk chocolate icing. Refrigerate for a day, and it tastes lots like eclairs! TFS!

In the summer, my fave dessert would be anything with fresh berries- healthy or not! Was just at a farmers market yesterday, and we bought berries, berries BERRIES! MMmmmmm!

My favorite dessert in the summer is an absolutely fresh, just picked Georgia peach. Summer in a bite! Then, of course, using the rest of the bag to make fresh peach cobbler….yummm!! We don’t live in Georgia any more, but every summer I crave peaches, thanks to our 4 1/2 years there with the military. I have to say, I am loving your blog!! Oh my favorite dessert is an easy berry cobbler that I make . I mix a combo of sugar and splenda to hold down the calories and top it with lite cool whip. Refreshing and full of antioxidants.

The tag is lovely. And I already have most of those supplies. It’s often so frustrating to see something you really like and for which you have NONE of the supplies.
Favorite dessert: strawberry yogurt pie; it’s cold, it’s yummy. Hubby hates it. And while I could eat the whole pie, I shouldn’t!!! So it doesn’t get made very often.

Besides agreeing with Susan above with ice cream, I love making Lemonade pie. So simple, but nice and light. All you do is add a Large Cool-whip(I get the light), can of sweetened condensed milk, small frozen lemonade concentrate(or 1/2 can of the regular size), and 2 graham cracker crusts. Just mix all the ingredients together (obviously not the crusts) and pour into the crusts and refrigerate. YUM! Thanks for a chance to win an awesome prize from Lizzie Anne!

My Favorite summer dessert?? I have two. One I just discovered last week – home made oatmeal cream cookies!!!
The other is smore’s. Though during the day it’s FAR too hot for a bonfire, every once in a while we’ll have one at one of our properties. July 4th we did and I got my yummies!!!

I love the tag. I especially like the curly butterfly antennas! You’re so creative! My favorite summer dessert is ice cream, but that shouldn’t count because I can eat ice cream all year long. So, I’d pick Moe Pie for my second favorite. It’s a combination of a flour, shortening, and pecan crust below cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cool whip filling. Then it’s topped with cherry pie filling. All I can say when I’m eating it is…I want some moe pie! Thanks for sharing.
My favorite summer dessert is icebox pie..graham cracker crust, juice of 4 limes or lemons and a can of sweetened condensed milk…mix together juice and milk, pour in crust and let sit in the refrigerator for overnight if you can wait to eat it…so yummy!! thanks for a chance to win..I love Lizzie Anne! My favorite summer dessert is called Summer Coolness. It is a recipe I have had for 20+ years. It does start with graham cracker base, also has a cream cheese layer, then a chocolate pudding layer and the topping is cool whip.
Anything with peaches, cherries, strawberries, raspberries or apples. These fruits are grown locally in our Niagara area. Southern Ontario, the fruitbelt of Canada!!!
So a lot of crumbles, pies, shortcakes, fruit bowls with fresh cream and whipped cream……oh my. Oh gosh, I forgot blueberries. Bad Terry.

I love ice cream pie!! Basically it’s ice cream and pudding mixed together and spread over a ritz cracker crust topped with whipped cream and whatever other topping your heart desires. You can mix and match flavors and toppings so that the possibilities for flavor are unlimited!!!
My favorite summer dessert is just plain ol’ ice cream! Here in Michigan winters can be wicked cold, so I don’t eat ice cream in the winter, but as soon as the weather turn warm, I’m all for it! My favorite summer dessert is Fresh berry Trifle made with Angel Food Cake
I now have two favorite summer desserts! The first is my blackberry ice cream. We always pick blackberries every summer, and then I make ice cream – it’s really the vanilla recipe (eagle brand milk, cream, etc) with the blackberries added in and only half the vanilla flavoring. It is sooo yummy! My new favorite however is frozen blueberries. We picked blueberries this year and I froze them on a cookie sheet and then poured them into a bag so that they wouldn’t be stuck together, and now when I need a little snack I go and grab a handful. They are sooooo good that way!!

First a big Thank You for the chance to win some exciting blog candy, I have never ever won anything maybe this is the first.
My favorite summer dessert is one that I invented I take watermelon, raspberries, peach, (pealed) and blend with ice & vanilla frozen yogurt. Then I put it in a mold and freeze and serve with fresh mint sprig and frozen green grapes. I also serve as a beverage with the frozen grapes in it.
On quick tip: Always keep green grapes frozen and use as ice in beverages or to just pop into your mouth as a refreshing treat.
Love the colors of your butterflies and those great antenaes! My favorite summer dessert is fresh fruit dipped in a concoction of whipped cream cheese and Marshmallow fluff! You can’t believe how yummy that is on fresh strawberries and cantaloupe melon!
Oh my heavens, your tag is gorgeous. Would you consider a tutorial for us? I don’t have a favourite summertime dessert because I love the most fattening desserts all year long–no matter what the season.
Homemade banana ice cream! Momma used to to make it for our special cookouts – it was always SO yummy! She also made a great blackberry cobbler when we had fresh blackberries ( and by fresh I mean we picked them from the back of our farm in Ky, it was such a treat to get them fresh) !! Well, I seem to have a craving now – Mmmm wonder why that is! LOL Thanks for bringing back such good memories! The butterfly tag is great! I think I have a recipe for the Banana Split Cake, if you don’t find yours, let me know! I’ll send it your way!
My favorite summer dessert recipe is a Mountain Dew Peach pie! Just never tastes right with frozen or canned peaches so I only get to make it when the summer peaches are here! Love your blog! Thanks for sharing your work with us!

There’s so many great summer desserts – but what can top an old fashioned banana split? Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry ice cream over a split banana, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, strawberries, crushed pineapple, chopped pecans, whipped cream and a cherry on top. I only allow myself 1 or 2 per summer! lol

Purple is my favorite and this tag is beautiful. Favorite desert would be of all things, a j-ello cake. You know, you bake the cake and when its done poke holes in it and then pour over your favorite flavor of J-ello. My favorite flavor combination would be lemon cake with lime J-ello. Topped off with Cool Whip.

As for desert: Anything with strawberries. Strawberry pie, strawberry dream, strawberry whip( this also has oreos for the crust. Not sure if this is the actual name, but that is what I call it).

My favorite summer dessert is FRO-YO! It is from a little stand in our town and they make frozen yogurt. It is delicious!! I absolutely love it! For 99-cents you can get the flavor of the day – there are two! One is fat-free and one is sugar-free! They also have a 99-cent menu!!! The place is awesome and it is always packed! Who wouldn’t love a “fro-yo” on a hot summer day? Yum!
My favorite summer dessert is actually something new. My 15 yr old son is a great cook and baker and he was watching Emerrill one day when there was a recipe for blackberry dumplings. Benjamin made it and it was WONDERFUL!! We’ve had it twice already. So yummy warm with whipped cream melting on it.

My favorite is a raspberry sorbet/vanilla ice cream loaf. You soften vanilla ice cream and raspberry sorbet and layer them into a bread pan and then refreeze. Then you take it out and remove the pan and slice like a loaf of bread. It is soooooo delicious!
Sweet watermelon, bing cherries, sour cherry pie, stwbry rhubarb pie, strawberry shortcake with loads of whipped cream. One choice is too difficult.
My favorite summer desert is just a whole bunch of in-season fruit mixed together: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cantaloupe chunks, red and green grapes, and fresh pineapple pieces – YUM! It’s so refreshing on top of being good to eat. I always feel like I’m getting my “strive for five” fruit servings all in one bowl!
gelato! We have this great place that serves authentic gelato, not the fake kind. It’s amazing!

My favorite is home-made ice cream – the kind where you have to crank the handle until the ice cream is think and wonderful
A bowl of fresh picked strawberries that are still warm from the sun ~ YUM ~ slice or leave whole then mixed with sliced bananas, a sweetner of your choice (sugar or Sweet’n Low, etc.), then add fresh ice cold milk. And if that isn’t enough to get your taste buds salivating [*wink*], try adding a few slivers of roasted walnuts or almonds.
This summer treat is very simple and quick to make, but once you try it you’ll know why it’s a family favorite in our home :0)

My favorite dessert for summer is…well…most anything. hee! But I will never turn down a yummy fresh cantaloupe. Oh and a cherry smoothie. And I guess also anything with strawberries in it, on it, beside it.
My favorite is Moose Tracks ice cream. Although I buy it all year long, I eat more of it in the summer.
Unfortunately, I love most desserts (especially ones involving chocolate) but I think summer and strawberry shortcakes with fresh whipped cream or ice cream. Yummy!

Oh nice tag, and my favorite dessert for the summer is no bake cheesecake with strawberries on top, or you could have cherries or rasberries. I love all the berries out this time of year and to have it with cheesecake is the best.
