I hope you are enjoying your Saturday! I went into the studio early this morning, and was working on a few cards when I realized that I didn’t have something I needed! Well, that called for a shopping trip. I headed out to Lowe’s, Home Depot and then ended up at Hobby Lobby! Oh my and yes, my Hobby Lobby DOES have Spellbinders! I was in shock. They don’t have Ranger Perfect Pearls, but they do have Spellbinders.

Since Mallory has one day of work left, tomorrow, she needed me to make her a card today. Her manager had a baby this summer and Mallory has had a baby gift sitting here for weeks. Why for weeks? Because she has been asking me to make a baby card for that long, and I have not either had the time or been too pooped to work on it late at night. Yesterday when Mallory mentioned the card again, I knew I didn’t have any other option than to make the card today. As you can tell, her manager had a baby girl!

Lindsey Baby Card

I colored the lamb with Copic Markers and then die cut the image with a Circle Nestability. I knew that I was going to airbrush the background, so leaving the image in the Nestability, I masked it and then airbrushed. For the background I decided to stamp some stars, instead of using designer paper. The same stars are stamped on the pink scallop panel on the front as well. For an embellishment, I made an Inchie. I stamped the bootie, colored it with Copic Markers and then over stamped the work girl. I mounted the Inchie between two pieces of 1″ Memory Glass, and then soldered the charm. I added a jump ring at the top to run the ribbon through and then tied a bow from the jump ring. I don’t think I’m ready to make fancy jewelry yet, but at least I’m still practicing with the solder. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet. On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment “We can give our children two things . . . One is roots, the other is ‘wings’.”
