Good morning!  Smiley from millan.net How many of you watched Dancing with the Stars last night?  It’s one of my favorite shows and I sat glued to the television the whole two hours.  Oh my badness, I laughed so hard at Cloris Leachman that I had tears rolling down my face.  Smiley from millan.net for the new television season, especially when it’s live!

As you know it’s Tuesday and of course, that means it’s Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker Smiley from millan.net.  Hop on over to the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog so you don’t miss those Design Team Members who are offering up Rubbernecker Bucks today.  You’ll also find your first link in today’s treasure hunt!

My card today is a spin on one of the demonstrations we do at shows.  If you’ve visited the Rubbernecker booth at any of the stamp shows, I’m sure you’ll recognize this technique!  However, instead of using a tag like at the demos, I used a 5.5 x 4.25 piece of white cardstock.

Thanksgiving Leaves

To make the background, I swiped Tea Dye, Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo Distress Ink down the center of my Ranger Craft Sheet.  I misted the inks with water until I had large beads of water and the colors started to mix.  The white cardstock was laid down on the ink, pressed in and then picked straight up.  The paper was then dried using an iron set to highest setting with no steam.  The process of picking up color and drying in between was continued until I had the desired color and effect I wanted for the background.  The background was then lightly misted with Scattered Straw/Gold Pearlized Distress Mist.

To stamp the leaves, I used a piece of Cut-N-Dry Stamp Pad Felt and made my own stamp pad.  I stamped the leaf image on the felt, then added Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Shabby Shutters reinker over the image to create my pad.  Once the pad was inked, I inked my stamp from the created pad, and stamped the leaves on the background.  I wanted a bit more color from the leaves, so I stamped over them with embossing ink and then embossed with UTEE.

The sentiment was generated on the computer.  Let me suggest to you however that if you decide you want color on your cardstock, add it BEFORE you print the sentiment.  Just the teeniest bit of water can make that ink run – yep, it surely can!
