I’ll be spending time with family over the next few days, and then while my girls are here we’ll be decorating for Christmas.  For us, Thanksgiving starts the holidays and they don’t end until after New Years.   Here’s wishing all of you aSmiley from millan.net and if you are traveling over the long weekend – safe journeys!

Animation from millan.netGood morning! I have to admit, that yesterday I hung it all up. I went down to the studio to work on a card and was working on a fabulous image panel. All of a sudden the phone kept ringing, the pups were running in and out, and after about an hour . . . I decided that I was getting no where. So, with no hesitation, I shoved everything to the side and turned off the lights. Which was a good thing, because Mallory rolled into the driveway not 20 minutes later. I spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with her and working on her computer.

Now I knew that I had to make a card for today since I fudged yesterday. After a dinner of pizza delivery, I headed back down to the studio once again. This time there were no interruptions and by golly . . . I finished a card!

Today’s Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge is hosted by Broni. She has challenged all of us to make a card about food. I think she put it . . . since we are going to be thinking about food chowing down on a big feast, why not? It may not have been that exactly, but the idea is close. We hope you find time this holiday weekend to play along with us. Make sure you check the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog for her exact challenge and don’t hold me to anything written here.

I thought about making a card with a chicken looking for Tommy Turkey in the barnyard (and I still may), but I decided to put the focus on the main course instead.

I seem to be having problems with layouts these days, and decided to go with one of my favorites to use. I love to stitch on my cards, and this layout just screams for it. The turkey was colored with Copic Markers and then cut with Circle Nestabilities. I knew that I was going to use my favorite brown ribbon and all of a sudden it hit me to tie the ribbon with a button. I went digging through my aunt’s button collection, and found one that looked better than all the rest I had. Once I had the ribbon tied through the button holes, it wanted to hang down a little, so I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the back of the button to make it hold in place. Worked like a charm!

Have a great day! Smiley from millan.net

Good morning!  I can’t believe I’m doing this another week in a row, but I’m totally unprepared for another Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker.  I got to involved with Dancing with the Stars last night, that I never left the couch to head down to the studio.  So once again . . .

today is Smiley from millan.net Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker and I don’t have a card ready.  Here’s my plan!  I’m going to do today’s Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers and then add the card to this post.  It works for me!  In the meantime, you can find all the necessary info on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog!

. . . did any of that sound familiar?

I’m sure you’re wondering why the heading Tap Dance Tuesday.  Well because it sounds better than I don’t know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt!

Smiley from millan.net Happy Monday!  I’ve got to tell ya, it’s already been a very busy morning around my house.  Even though it’s quiet, it has been busy!  I can hardly believe that I’ve already had a shower, dressed for the day and have been in the studio already.  Yes, I might have a fever!!!!

After I caught up on emails and my blurfing this morning, I checked out the Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  It’s such a great challenge today!  If you find yourself giving gift cards during the holidays, this is one you need to check out.  The challenge is to make a pop-up gift card holder!  Oh my BADness, they go together so quickly and would also be great if you are giving a bit of cash instead of a gift card.  I myself am a little leery about gift cards this holiday season . . . you never know if the company is going to be in business long enough for the gift card to be redeemed.

I decided to show you both the front,

TLC196 front

and the inside.  I made the same design for the inside that I used for the image on the front, so that I could write a personal note.

TLC196 inside

The holly was colored with Copic Markers and then cut out, so that I could mount them on the sentiment panel.  Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities were used to make both the image panel and the one on the inside.

Have a great day everyone!  I might break down and give these stinky dogs a bath – remember I said “might.”

I hope y’all have enjoyed your weekend so far.  I’ve had my fanny parked on the couch for the better part of two days watching holiday movies!  Both the Family and Hallmark Channel have had some good ones.  I have made it into the studio oh two, three, four times, and most of what I’ve made, will have to wait.  However, I did start a few little note cards last night and finished them up earlier today.

OCL Going Gourmet Thank You

The images were colored with Copic Markers.  I used Spellbinders Labels One for the image panel and for the scalloped border.

More than anything, I was playing around with little cards that could be used  in a set, each having the same layout with different images.  I also wanted to try my hand at a clean, simple design.  That is hard for me, and often takes more time than if I were in a distressing and sponging mode!

  • Stamps: Going Gourmet from Our Craft Lounge
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Memory Box Homespun; SU Basic Black and Riding Hood Red
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ranger Archival Jet Black
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Spellbinders Labels One and Long Scalloped Rectangles Nestabilities; Ribbon; Venture Foam Tape

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, I’m off to watch more movies and maybe go back to the studio!
