As I sit here bouncing between the NASCAR Race and the Academy Awards, I find myself at a total loss for words. I know . . . amazing! Oh please I hate these rain cautions. Let’s talk about my favorite driver for a few minutes . . . Mark Martin. Mark and I are the same age. I tell you this because we were 16 when I first met Mark. My dad was the Race Director for the American Speed Association (ASA), and Mark started driving ASA when he was 16. So I have a soft spot in my heart for Mark and hope beyond hope that this is finally his year to have a good season.
Let’s see if I can catch you up on what I’ve been doing the last few days. I finally got my laundry and book work caught up Thursday and Friday. Two of my most dreaded chores . . . but what is a girl to do when Mr. Stodgy runs out of clean clothes and let’s you know about it. I’ve also learned that I can’t multitask anymore. If I start laundry, I must stay with it. Otherwise, I forget what I was doing and it ends up sitting in the washer for days. So . . . one task at a time!
Since no one jumped at the chance to come over and help me organize my studio, I had to do it myself on Saturday. It took all day and I didn’t even vacuum! I did open up the floor space a little bit, and no longer have to walk around my work table. I was able to keep my work table situated so that my back isn’t to the door, but I also have space behind me now to push my chair back.
Now for today! I actually got some stamping done. I know, I know . . . surprising! It took all day, but I did get a card done. I decided to watercolor with Distress Reinkers today. I actually have a watercolor pallet that holds all my Distress Reinkers, with a few empty wells that I can mix colors in. When I purchased it, I brought it home and added a dropper of each reinker in the wells then wrote with a marker what color is in the well. It’s great because there is a plastic cover that keeps the ink from drying out.
Anyhoo, there are four of these seed packet images that I have set out on my desk to eventually watercolor. The seed packet itself is a great image, but I just decided not to include in today’s card. Thank goodness because I had enough trouble with the layout.
Once I had the image water colored, I die cut and embossed the image panel with Spellbinders Small Labels Nestabilities. To throw a little fun into the card, I decided to die cut and emboss the layer for the image panel with Spellbinders Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities. Don’t ask me why I decided on a green button, now I think red might have been a better choice.
