Flourishes Limelight – Week 3!

Published by Sherry Cheever at 4:30 am under Flourishes, Spellbinders

Good morning!  This is my third Sunday of Flourishes Limelight Designer and here’s the card I have posted on the Flourishes Newsletter today.

I have loved this Lilac Set since I first saw it.  The set reminds me of when I was a little girl and my grandmother’s neighbor had 2 Lilac bushes in her front yard.  The way they grew, there was a section in the middle that we could crawl through and hide in.  I don’t know that my grandmother’s like it too well, when we did that, but as long as we kept the balls out of her backyard all was good!  I remember her being a little cranky at times, but then she was the neighbor that taught me to knit . . . who knows.  Anyhoo, I’ve always had a fondness for lilacs!

I swear you could make a girl like purples with this card!! I too, have a fondness for liacs. My grandmother had a couple of huge bushes in her yard (along with the most gorgeous HUGE roses a person could ever see!!). Lilacs = grandma in my book!!

Lilacs are one of my absolute favorite flowers (along with peonies) and they are some of what I miss about our old house in CT (we are *blessed* right now to live in hot, hot, humid Houston where neither of these grow!). We planted a lilac when DD was born in early May so it would always bloom on her birthday. Your card brought up some very nice memories and made me pull out those pictures- thanks for sharing your lovely card!
