Yesterday, while my Google Reader, I noticed that one of my favorite bloggers had posted a couple of new cards. The minute they came up on my screen, I was like this boy can stamp! If you aren’t familiar with Daniels Hobbyblogg you NEED to be! Daniel Askeland, a 17 year old student from Norway, caught my eye some time ago, and I have been a fan ever since. I have him under inspiration in Google Reader and he never ceases to amaze me with his talent. I’ve told him I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t become Norway’s own version of Tim Holtz! Daniel’s posted work yesterday inspired me to make this!
I started with one of my new Magenta images I picked up at Stampaway, and some watercolor paper. Using Broken China and Vintage Photo I used the Wrinkle-Free Distress technique on the watercolor paper. Now this is actually a stamp with 2 images side-by-side, but I cut them apart and only used one . . . knowing that I wanted to use the Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles. Once I stamped the image, I went back and painted just the flower with Dusty Concord and Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. My background paper were the left over scraps of the K&Company Ancestry.com papers I’ve been using. I just crumpled them up, distressed the a little, and added lots of ink. The skeleton key was another one of my finds at Stampaway and the vintage button and lace are from my own stash. I made the frame with Rectangle Nestabilities and the Rubbernecker Stamps ticket was cut/embossed with the Spellbinders Ticket Stubs.
