Good Tuesday morning! I hope you had a great weekend and your week has started off good! I spent Saturday with my mom, aunt and sister. We went to Hodgenville to visit my uncle and check on things there. After lunch we were going back through the town square and there was a little shop that I had never been in before. We stopped and oh my gosh . . . what a great place. No, I don’t remember the name BUT we are planning on going back this coming Saturday and I’ll find out then. I might even remember to take my camera and get some pictures!
My project today is a sample for the class I’ll be teaching next month and is a work in progress. We’ll be seeing this change over the next few days and I thought it would be fun to watch the transformation.
I’m not too sure about the round flower on the bottom and that’s probably going to be the first thing that goes. I’m still looking at it trying to decide. I’m also not too sure about the colors, but they do happen to be my favorite combination. What do you think . . . is this something you would like to make in a class?
Yes if I was in a class with you teaching then I would like to make this. The first word that came to mind is Vogue. I like it. It will be fun to see the transformation. I wouldn’t get rid of the lollipop flower I would place it in the upper left hand side. Bring the flourish down try that you just might like it. TFS!!! Sherry.
I like the flower….the more I look, the more I like….I guess it grows on you! Ha, ha… I’d make the project in a class….You’ll have to put together a tutorial for all of us that are on the other side of the country. You always put together colors that I never think would go together and they are beautiful…..Can’t wait to see more!
Okay – since you asked. I’m NOT loving the flower. The rest of the design is pretty cool – it seems to call out for a spiky type of layered flower. The round one seems to pull and keep my focus. Something with spikes would probably make the eye travel around the design more. Of course that’s just my opinion. As in the case with all artwork – everyone’s tastes are different. That’s why we surf the blogs for inspiration! LOL!
I’d be happy just to take a class from you…regardless of what we made! I like the flower where it is.

(scary…the padawon giving her opinion!)….not keen on the round flower. Like the IDEA…but not the round. Maybe a different shape? Who am I to say? I still have the same project on my desk from this weekend!! snort.

I would loving attending your class! I’m thinking it’s a fun one filled with plenty of laughs and great projects! Glad to see the grunge stuff; I get stumped when wanting to use one and I have plenty 🙂 The reason I like the project you’re making is because it looks like altered art and it’s so different from a lot of things I see on a daily basis while reading blogs. Leave the flower, use the colors, and teach me more ways to use the grunge board! P.S. You can always make a sweet card, too, for those who want lighter fluffier colors.
Oh, cool, Sherry. I have to agree about the round flower. I’d want to take some triangular nicks out of it – does that make sense? And instead of the green ribbon, go with purple.
