  1. Sherry, your story and your love of family is just wonderful. TFS!!! Your card is beautiful. It reminds me of those old bubble light ornaments. The water coloring with re-inkers is colored beautifully, it has a rich look to the ornament I’ll have to give that a try. Happy Thanksgiving to you. You are such an inspiration and I thank you for that. Have a wonderful dinner with your family.

  2. Hi Sherry…
love the photo of your Mum and Uncle when they were kids…so much character. I hope your uncle stays as well as possible and I can imagine how excited you are about your famous family!!
Your card is gorgeous and I am going to have a go at watercolouring with the distress inks. Thanks for the inspiration.
All the best…Roz from Down Under.

  4. Sherri, I’ve always liked your cards. It’s good to know you are a big racing fan. We have always been also. My husband was great friends with Joe Littlejohn who raced on the beach at Daytona. Your uncle may remember him. I hope he recovers from his battle with cancer and my prayers will be with him.

  5. That picture of your mom and uncle as children is just so precious. Thanks for sharing a bit of your family history. Oh, and that card isn’t too bad either! ;-)…….looking forward to seeing what you have for us on Friday!

  6. Love the cute photo of your mom and uncle!!
Your card is just lovely….could you please send just a smiggin of your mojo my way?!!

  7. Beautiful card Sherri!! That’s exciting news about the induction – congrats! Cute photo – nothing like those old photos, eh?! (Good healthy wishes to your uncle)

  8. Wow isn’t it something those flowers could grow there and like you said this time of year. Sorry to hear of what your Uncle is going through but that is great he will get in the hall of fame, something to look forward to, to keep your mind off things is always a good thing.
Beautiful card, just loving that paper, and the ornament is just lovely!

  9. Adore the B&W photo of your Mom and Uncle ~~ you certainly look like your Mom 🙂 But do tell, where does the *Badness* originate from? Your Dad’s side or your Mom’s?

Your Christmas card is another elegant work-of-art =)

  10. Congrats to your uncle on being inducted to a Hall of Fame. We love racing too. In fact, hubby and I met at a small oval track – Flamborough Speedway in Ontario.

Love the old photos too! All the best to your uncle fighting this horrible disease. Hope he wins.

  11. Beautiful, beautiful card, Sherry!! And congrats to your uncle! I sure hope your dad goes in at the same time – that would be awesome!

  12. Wow, Sherry, thank you for sharing those pictures. They brought back memories of my own family. How really really wonderful and cute. Great memories lady. TFS…..oh, and I love your card too! But they are always wonderful!

  13. Sad and happy. I don’t know how to feel, but mostly melancholy, I think. I’m sorry about your uncle’s cancer. Why do these things have to happen? That’s great news about his Hall of Fame honor, though! I love the pic of your mom & uncle when they were little. Oddly, this looks almost exactly like a photo of my brother and me when we were that age. We were even wearing almost exactly the same clothes. Same hair color. Your uncle even looks alot like my brother. It’s funny because we’re a generation apart. I think that photo has contributed to my melancholy…sigh…

Love your beautiful card! I’m admiring the stitching. I really need to have another go at that.

  14. What a beautiful card and lovely story — thanks for sharing!
