Smiley from millan.net Happy Saturday!  Wow the time is sure flying by and Christmas will be here before we know it.  I called my mother and the conversation went something like this:

Me:  What cha doin’?

Mom:  Decorating the big tree.

Me:  The big tree?

Mom:  Yep, the big tree.

Me:  You mean you’re putting up the big tree?

Mom:  Yes, I’m putting up the big tree!  I have two flowers on it and that is all.  But I’m putting up the big tree!

Me:  WOO HOO, my mommy is having Christmas!

My mother hasn’t had Christmas since my dad passed away!  This is a big deal!!!!  Maybe it’s because she thinks my uncle will be here again, or that I’m having surgery this coming Friday (which she claims I did so I wouldn’t have to have Christmas and cook), or simply that she’s ready to have Christmas again!  Either way, I’m super duper excited . . . You know I can’t remember if I made it into the studio or not yesterday, I don’t think I did.  Now I have to ask myself, that the hell did I do yesterday?  That’s a darn good question!  I guess it was just one of those days.

I worked on T!m’s Smiley from millan.net 12  Tags of Christmas this morning.  I’ve been putting on working on T!m’s Smiley from millan.net Tag 10 because I just didn’t like the metal.  After thinking about it for a few days, I came up with an idea that would suit me and also use the metal that he did.  So here’s my Tag 10.

Tag10

I took a piece of silver paper and embossed it using Spellbinders™ Snowflake Impressabilities.  Once that was done, I found Grunge Board letters that spelled “Let it Snow” and glued them down to the tag.  Now here’s where it get messy!  I decided to run it all through the Wizard™.  When it came out, the words were debossed and showed great on the back side of the tag.  I removed them all and glued them to the back side of the tag in reverse order.  This time when I ran the tag (with newly placed letters) and the embossed silver foil through the Wizard™, it came out right.  I did forget to tell you that before I did embossing on the foil, I covered the entire piece with blues and purples alcohol inks.  It seemed to me that these colors fit the snowflakes better than reds and greens.

I found some Grunge Board snowflakes, painted them white and then added some sparkle.  “Let it snow” was sanded to reveal the silver paper, too!  Once I got over the look of the metal, I had fun making this tag.

  • Paper:  Manila Shipping Tag
  • Ink:  Ranger Aqua, Cloudy Blue, Cool Peri, Eggplant and Pool Alcohol Inks; and Ranger Broken China Distress
  • Accessories:  Spellbinders™ I2-1003 Snowflake Impressabilities; Ranger Snow Cap Acrylic Paint Dabber, Glossy Accents, Rock Candy Distress Stickles, Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool, Felt; Sanding Tools; May Arts Ribbon; Tim Holtz idea-ology Long Fastener; Foam Mounting Tape; Darice Craft Wire

That’s all I have right now!  I need to work on a few special projects and get ready for my class Monday night!  Have a great day and thanks for spending some time of the BAD Side with me!
