Good Monday morning! I hope y’all had a great weekend and the weather was sunny and warm were you are. It most definitely was here . . . gotta love it!
So . . . I found out Friday that I have to have a sample of my class project for StampFest Orlando done basically today! I’m working on it, but it might be tomorrow. I had a plan but due to unforeseen circumstances, it kinda fell through the cracks, so I started scrambling over the weekend to pull an idea out of thin air. I remembered that my friend, Kat, had posted what she called a Chunky Tag. I was so inspired by it, that I emailed her about me teaching it at Orlando . . . guess what my class is . . . . Chunky Tag Art!
Basically, the tag is a 2×4 cut to the size of a manila shipping tag which is roughly 6” long. Chunky ATC’s are all the rage so a tag is not that unreasonable. I wanted to test before I actually started my main project so I used a piece of 2×4 I had cut from my 6” block. This one is 1.5×3.5 so it’s smaller than an ATC and it’s larger than a moo . . . thus a mini tag!
As we go around the project, it’s telling a story. Here’s the front

Here’s a close-up of the flower so you can see the stamping and sanding. I wish you could see the two colors of paper better . . . I can see now that in my true sample, I need make the paper in the flower contrast more.

That’s all I have for now . . . I need to head into the studio and work on the big sample. I also need to make something for this Wednesday’s Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog hop . . . Did I tell you that I was behind? So far behind that I can see myself up ahead and my hair (what I have) is on fire!
Thanks for stopping into the BAD Side today and remember . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures the day brings you! AND yes, that’s why I’m behind . . . I had a last minute adventure with my mother on Saturday . . . we packed up the rest of Kate’s stuff at the river house and moved it to the garage for her. I’m thinking that now that the river house is empty, it might be the perfect place to hold classes! hehehe my mother would faint if I even suggested it . . . oh momma?
