clip_image001I hope y’all had a great day yesterday!  I was able to get out in the yard after the storms and do some more digging.  The Master Plan is coming along nicely and I plan on having an update for your tomorrow!  Now don’t get too excited and lord knows, don’t hold your breath, but there has been a little progress. clip_image002   In the mean time, let’s get down and DIRTY!

It’s Dare to Get Dirty Week at Splitcoaststampers!  If you’re a Fan Club Member this is your chance to play along with Dirty Girls, past and present, in a ton of fun challenges.  If you’re not a Fan Club Member, this is the perfect time to become one!   (You can get all the info you need at the previous links.)

We’d love to have you play with us this week!  There are 33 challenges to choose from – play one or play them all!

My project today is a sample that I’ve created for Debbie Fisher’s challenge.  You can find all the details about the challenge here!

You know I’ve been having a blast altering 2x4s.  Well . . . .  how about a 4×4!  I was at Kate’s a few months back when they are building their fence and picked up a small piece of a 4×4 out of the yard.  I actually had to sneak it out because she was saving them for projects in her science classes.  The one I grabbed happens to be 4” tall too!

For some time, I’ve wanted to do a project with one of my favorite sentiments from Paula Best.  It’s called Live Every Day and is a quote from Melissa Etheridge, “Live every day in this journey, music heals, speak true.”

This project is for all of us who have had, currently have or will have cancer.  I’m sure we have all been affected by this disease either personally, a family member or a friend. We must remember to live strong and always speak true!

All the flowers are made with Grunge Paper that has been covered with designer paper before die cutting. The 4×4 was also covered with designer paper with the excess sanded off, and the sides sponged with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. The butterflies are made with Grunge Paper and brads were inserted for the bodies. I wound some black wire around the back of the top brad for antennae. The flower centers are vintage buttons I found in my stash.  The chipboard letters were inked and then over stamped with an Anna Griffin Background.

Well that’s all I have today! As long as the weather holds I’ll have a Master Plan update for tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures of today!

  9. LOVE the chunky tags series! They are SO wonderful and I can’t wait to create some. Bought my first grungeboard and am looking for grungepaper. What adhesive do you find works best for gluing the designer paper to the grungepaper? I have never worked with it before so I have lots of questions – of course they are all inpspired by your fabby chunky tags!!
