Good morning! Are you ready to hop? Daisy, (eclectic Paperie) attended the Color Connections event back in May and because she did, she was able to get all the new Tattered Angels colors before CHA . . . and, guess what? Daisy shared with The E-Team!
I have to admit that I’ve never worked with Tattered Angels much. I bought some when it first came on the market, but I wasn’t too pleased with the way they misted. There was clogging, globbing and just a mess. I have to say, I LOVE the new formula of the mists and they are quickly becoming a favorite . . . The colors are absolutely beautiful and the shimmer is gorgeous!
I’m going to start with my project first today. Now you know that it has to be a flower don’t you? I couldn’t resist taking a white flower and making it another color entirely. So here’s my card:
I used mostly new dies from the Spellbinders™ summer release because . . . . well simply put . . . . I’m quite taken with the new dies and I got to try some out that I’ve been wanting to play with!
Here are the white flowers that were die cut/embossed from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White from the new Spellbinders die template, S5-067 Anemone Flower Topper.
Once I had the different layers cut out (you see more in the photo than I actually used), I misted them first with Starfish from the Tattered Angels Garden Bouquet Glimmer Mist Kit. All the layers were dried and then misted with Tattered Rose for the second coat. The center, having been misted with the same colors, needed to be different from the rest of the flower so I misted them with Firefly Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.
The Chalkboard Glimmer Mist really made the centers pop out with a different color!
Can you see the shimmer?
To finish up the card, I used BasicGrey Sweet Threads for my background paper and pink and brown cardstock for the remainder of the card. The sentiment, from Studio 490 Evidence of Art, was die cut/embossed with Mega Ovals and then mounted on a background panel from the new Spellbinders S5-073 Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents.
The border under the flower and ribbon was die cut/embossed with more new Edgeabililties die templates, E8-002 Classic Bracket and E8-003 Classic Scallop.
Of course, I couldn’t resist using a touch of Starfish Glimmer Mist on the seam binding. You can find my tutorial here on working with mists and sprays to dye seam binding. Oh and one more thing, I did add a touch of Antique Linen to the edges of all the papers before I stitched it all together.
Well, I guess that’s all for my project. Now it’s time for some hop information!

Hi Sherry..still new to blogging. Beautiful card!! I watched the tutorial you have on YouTube and it is fascinating to how beautifully the seam binding turned out! I am wondering..about how much seam binding did you used for the card?? I am off to see what the others are doing
You made that complicated flower look “do-able” through your photos…great way to show how to do it. Thankyou

Your flower is much more interesting because it isn’t all one color, but shades of color. I’m curious – did the flower tips curl up automatically when you sprayed them, or did you curl each petal yourself?
Love that flower!!! Fun to see what you’ve been playing with and very pretty project. Thanks
That is just beautiful, the flower is wonderful, thank you for sharing it.
