Smiley from millan.net Today I have my final CHA project to show you. Graphic 45

sent the Design Team a brown bag and asked us to decorate it for the CHA Booth using The Magic of Oz Collection.  It was really cool to see them all hanging together in the booth!

I couldn’t help myself but use the Wicked Witch on one side.  “Something WICKED this way comes” keeps running through my head!

For this side, I used Black Soot Distress Ink to sponge the edges of all the paper, except the card which was sponged in Vintage Photo.  The border at the top was made with Spellbinders S7-013 Grand Scroll Borderabilities (which I think is retired  . . . I couldn’t find it on the Spellbinders site).  The flying monkeys were glued to purple cardstock, cut out and then mounted on foam tape to raise it up.

Here’s a close-up of the compass and the feet to that you can see all the Milled Lavender Distress Stickles.

For the other side, I used the Wizard when he leaves Dorothy stranded in the Land of Oz.  There are Peeled Paint Distress Stickles on the balloon and Scattered Straw to highlight Oz.

Of course, this is the part of the movie when Glenda comes to Dorothy’s rescue, telling her to tap her heals together.  Those are Christmas Red Distress Stickles on the shoes.

I have to admit that once I saw all the bags hanging in the Graphic 45 Booth, I was somewhat disappointed in my own work.  I could have done more and next time I will!  I wish I had kept the picture on my phone now.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

  3. OK, seriously, you DID do a WONDERFUL JOB!!!! it’s a stinkin paper bag and I would have NEVER guessed it was, look at all that STUFF on there, inks glitters, paints… Mine would STILL be lookin like a cheap $1 store brown lunch sack! LMAO

  4. Hi Sherry! I agree with KelliJo~~you did do a wonderful job!! I loved it..and the glittery ruby slippers~so cute (my granddaughter, Brooke was crazy about the ruby slippers when she was little and “needed” a pair 🙂 I can still hear those hard heels clattering on the floor :-0) I live in Judy Garland’s hometown, so am a little partial :). You have such a great imagination:) Happy Adventures today!!

  5. Not my favorite story, but you did a great job with both side of this bag. Like all the stickles. Edna

  6. Love it. I have to agree with the above posters…..your project is/was fantabulous!! I love how my eye follows your design from top to bottom.

    BRAVO

  8. I think your bag is WONDERFUL, Sherry. I love that it doesn’t have so much stuff on it that it’s difficult to figure out what the image is saying or to what it is referring. Love the colors, the stickles, the images, everything!

  9. Beautiful project! Love this collection, TFS

  10. Absolutely LOVE the wicked witch….. I would be thrilled to receive that from a friend! Great job!

  11. Girl, the bag is gorgeous!!!! Don’t do that to yourself, and yes, I’m a good one to talk because I do it every time too. (about seeing fellow DT stuff and noticing how mine is just mediocre).

  12. YOU may think you should have done more; I think your trick or treat sack looks awesome. You have most certainly inspired me to try and do something half as good with the G45 Magic of Oz papers that I love! Thanks for sharing.

  13. Fab! So glad I started following you daily again. Your work is breathtaking. Love the hair now, too!

  14. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS! The Wizard of Oz is my fave movie of all time–so I’m going to have to get my hands on some of this paper! Keep on inspiring me, Sherry!
