Good morning! I had every intention of posting this project yesterday, but I got a little sidetracked with the Gatorade Duels from Daytona. I was working away quite contently, when I got an email that the races were going to be on Speed at 2:00 . . . well, I guess you know what happened then . . . I had 15 minutes to finish what I was doing and head up to the television where I could watch the Speed Channel. Boogity, boogity, boogity . . . it’s RACE WEEK!
I bought some small canvases from Papertrix when I was up there last year, and knew that a project would come to me one day where I could use them. Well, today is the day!
I started with a 3×3 mini canvas that I painted with a mixture of white and teal acrylic paint. A background from Studio 490 Remnants of Art was stamped over the canvas with Donna Salazar’s Honey Mix’d Media Ink.
The birdcage is chipboard from Imaginarium Designs that was painted white, covered with Rock Candy Crackle Paint and then highlighted with Vintage Photo and Bundled Sage Distress Stains. The excess stain was wiped off, leaving just a touch of color.
The bird was die cut from GrungePaper with Spellbinders™ Mix’d Media Elements and then inked with Broken China Distress Stain and Stickles.
The flower is made from Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection – Rock-A-Bye and die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Bauble Blossoms. The leaves were die cut/embossed with Mini Blossoms from Cherished.
The sentiment, Imagine, was created with Spellbinders Donna Salazar Collection – Girlie Grunge Labels. The die was inked with Honey, placed on the paper and then die cut/embossed. Once dry, the edges were sponged with Black Soot Distress Ink.
The Maya Road Mini Ruler was inked with Tea Dye Distress Stain.
That’s all for now, except to say thanks for stopping by today and remember . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures of your day!
Project Supplies:

Sherry, as always love your work!
This is so cute! Love the smaller size!
This is so sweet Sherry. This would be super for decorating a baby shower gift that could then be something displayed in the nursery. I have a ton of baby showers coming up in the next couple of months. Love it.
Marcie
very pretty flower and like how the bird cage is off the side!
I love the size of this sweet project….makes a canvas so much more “doable. ” Darling! And the flower looks like a dogwood…beautiful!
As usual, Sherry, you do not disappoint. You make it sound so easy to get these projects completed. I think this would be darling for decorating a gift and then could be used as room decor.
Sherry……You are mucho, mucho inspiring!! I have been in a creative funk for weeks, and just savoring all your beautiful projects has given me a new perspective! Thank You!!!!! Looking forward to more!
