It’s Smiley from millan.net After going to the gym Smiley from millan.net this morning, YES I said gym, and while I’m waiting on the IU/KY game tonight, I thought I would play a little in the studio.    In case you are wondering, I’m NOT rooting for the Wildcats . . . I actually always root for their opposition . . . and this time it happens to be the Hoosiers (who I always root for)!  All I can say is IU is back Smiley from millan.net

AND the gym . . . I’ve been going with mom and my sister to the Wellness Center for 2 weeks now.  We’re going 3 days a week right now, but I’m beginning to think that for me to loose any weight at all . . . well I probably need to go Monday through Friday.  I’ve been doing 30 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes on the treadmill.  Today they said they would start me on some upper body next week . . . I’m ready for that!

Anyhoo, I’ve had this Inky Antics clear set that has been begging for some ink.  I like it because it’s one of those you can color with markers, give it a little mist of water and then stamp it.  Because this one is line drawn, I was able to take a wet paintbrush and pull the color through the image.

InkyWatercolorFlower

After the flower dried, the sentiment was stamped over the top in Archival Coffee.  Since I used the Ranger Distress Markers, I went searching for my old spritzing tool.  Remember those?  I got mine a number of years ago with SU first came out with it . . .  we couldn’t get enough of them.  I figured what the hell . . . time to dust it off!  I did some spritzing with Dusty Concord and Brushed Corduroy Markers to match the flower.  I think I got a little carried away . . . but it was fun!

The paper is my new 6×6 pad from My Mind’s Eye – A Beautiful Life.  The seam binding was dyed with Milled Lavender Distress Ink.

Well, the sun is finally shining after a morning of dull skies and rain . . . I might be a good time to get the shitzes out for a walk.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . .  life is short, enjoy the adventures that come our way today!

  1. Sherry…another beautiful card and the flower coming through the background is stunning 🙂 TFS XOX

  2. Sherry, I didn’t know you were going to the gym! I REALLY have to get back on the treadmill. I made the mistake of looking at a picture of myself — oh boy!

  3. Such a pretty card! I never think to use lavender…but it looks so great with the aged effect (so to speak) of the spritzed (I have a spritzer tool also…don’t use it as much as I could) background. Still lovin’ the seam binding bows…they are so beautiful and with your tute…so easy! Happy weekend….

  4. Pretty, pretty, pretty! I love it when you make cards. I like to do that technique with the stamps and watercolor markers, too, and you’ll never guess what a friend gave me Monday–a spritzing tool! I’m eager to try it out and see if I end up with ink all over me, the table, the card, etc.!

  5. Pretty pretty pretty!! Love the seam binding… I was just playing with my inks and ribbons… I looked a bit like the child of The Hulk and Smurfette when I was finished… LOL

  6. GO WILDCATS!!!! 🙂 luv em! and luv u too!

  7. Love this card. The flower is so pretty and love the verse. Thanks. Edna

  8. I Love this card! Love everything about it. Color, LO, DSP all just perfect. Is that sentiment also Inky Antics. I “must” have it. TFS, Jean ~

  9. Super pretty, Sherry! Love the colors you chose, and that flower is just so pretty. I like the spritzing!

  10. Gorgeous stamping and just love the spritzing 🙂 Good for you getting out and working out, just remember it is good for your body and heart to work out even if the weight isn’t dropping off as fast as you would like.

  11. The gym? Hum, that’s a good thing. You will build up strength but if you want to lose any weight only dieting will do that. I was going to the gym 2-3 hours 4-5 days a week and never lost a pound until I started eating salads everyday and very little else.

  12. Good for you Sherry. Working out is never for nothing. We all would be so much healthier for doing it. Just a little tip – When you first start out you are building muscle and muscle is heavy so you are adding weight at first. You wont notice weight loss for probably 3 to 4 wks. But, you will notice an energy boost, and maybe some weight shifting as you start to tone up. It is also very important to modify your eating as well and I am not talking diets, I am talking balancing all the food groups throught the day.

  13. I need to start working out as well. I really don’t want to. It will hurt (whine).

  15. oohh oh oh oh does that mean you’ll root for KU when they play KY? :-). Gorgeous card, love the purple and definitely like the ink spots / spritzes. Yeah, I remember the days when I used go to the gym before work (back when I had a real job, lo). Now, I don’t have any time between work, spouse, etc… Good for you though, it does become very addicting!
