Well it took me most of the day, but I finally got one project done.  That is after helping Mallory wash all 3 dogs in the sweltering heat and spot cleaning on the deck some more.  I think I finally have it where it needs to be and ready for Mr. Stodgy to waterproof in the morning.  I spent 2 days pressure washing the entire deck . . . love that pressure washer . . . YES I do!

After starting one or two cards, trying some techniques here and there, I finally ended up with a small wall hanging.  I’ve been playing with a new flower, some I made for CHA, and wanted to try another today.  This one is made with Spellbinders™ Blossom Three.

Before assembling the flower, each edges of each layer were inked with Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx, misted with water and shaped.

The paper is My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found – Sunshine.  That flourish is a new die, S5-143 Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.  The base for the hanging is made from printer’s chipboard that was die cut with Labels Eight, 4 different times and clued together.  The holes at the top were punched with my ever faithful Crop-o-dile.  For the hanger itself, I used black Artistic Wire winding it around with the Artistic Wire Coiling Gizmo.

I guess that’s all for me right now.  I’m heading back into the studio and to watch the Olympic Trials.

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Supplies:

Good morning and happy Friday!  First, let me thank everyone who left comments and even sent emails regarding The E-Team.  It’s wonderful to know that we have touched and inspired so many of you . . . it means the ride was worthwhile and very rewarding!

I also want to take this opportunity to let you know that I’m NOT going anywhere, that I’m personally not retiring.  I think my post wasn’t very clear on the fact that only the design team, The E-Team, is retiring.  All the individual designers will be around, on their blogs and creating more art!

I’m still working with Spellbinders, and am at this point of the month, terribly behind on my projects!  I need to go barricade myself in the studio for the rest of the day and tomorrow and get some projects ready to be posted by Saturday night (that is the end of the month right?).

I’m so glad that many of you enjoyed the tangle work SO, I’m going to take the liberty to share some more with you today.  As I said, I’ve been spending many hours in hospital and doctor office waiting rooms both with Mallory and with my mother.  My journal has been tucked in my purse each trip and has helped me entertain myself while I’ve been waiting.  It’s also helped me NOT to worry so much, keeping me preoccupied with something other than the fact that my family members are having tests run.

This first page resulted from a lark.  While working on another journal page for an eP hop, I had stenciled some butterflies that I didn’t use for the hop.  I happened to flip to that page one day and here’s what I came up with.

TANGLE5

As you can see, I’m having lots of fun incorporating different tangles and doodles, seeing what can work well together and what can’t.

Here’s another that I did one day while waiting.

TANGLE4

Both of these are just free-form doodling.  I didn’t draw the box or add the thread that is typical of Zentangle.  I just started doodling, adding something here and there and then bringing it all together.

I have a few more to share, but my camera wasn’t behaving well when I took these this morning.

Well, that’s all for now.  I’m going down to work to see if I can catch myself up!  Thanks for stopping by and remember to grab and hold on to the adventures that come your way today.  We did the other day . . . sorority had our social night out on the river enjoying a boat ride . . . and boat drinks . . .
