I guess I don’t need to tell you that I’m totally hooked on Zentangle.  It has become relaxation and quiet time for me, whether I’m home or away.  When I’m working on a project, and remember to breathe and not grip the pen sooooo tight, I can feel my shoulders relaxing and a calm come over me.  Which makes it a perfect craft for taking along in your purse or tote.

Instead of bombarding you with tangles that I’ve done throughout the week, I thought it would be a great idea to start a new feature here on the BAD Side.  From now on (well when there’s not a hop or frenzy the same day), Tuesday will  from now on be “Tangle Time Tuesday!”  I hope you enjoy the projects as much as I enjoy making them.  I also hope that some of you decide to join in on the fun.  I’ve read that some of you have tried Zentangle, want to try or actually love it as much as I do.  So let’s try this!  (Spur of the moment decision here)  I’ll put an InLinkz collection at the end of this post and then you can play along with me and post a link to your project below.    We’ll try this for awhile and see what happens . . . sound like fun?

Here are a couple of my favorites that I’ve done over the last few weeks.  The first is one of my journal pages (I purchased a new Moleskin journal to carry with me and basically to practice in.)

ZENTANGLE10

The next one is also from my journal.  Sadly it looks like I got a little carried away with the stump when I was shading.  I’ve been using a paper stump (like we use with Gamsol and colored pencils) for shading my pencil marks to add depth to the Tangle.

ZENTANGLE11

That’s it for me today.  Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing what you create and link up!

  1. Really looks cool Sherry. But what is zentangle? Do I need anything special to get started? If so… where do i get it?

  2. Lovely pieces girl! You make me want to pick up my pen and pad!

  3. see that’s exactly what I do, grib the pen too tightly and then my hand will kill me for hours afterward. Your tangles look great…..hey, sending prayers and keeping fingers crossed on good Dr visits this week.

  4. Sherry, your creativity knows no bounds! Thank you for your great idea of including Zentangles in your blog. I took a class, but didn’t do any after. Your stimulus will get me going. Thank you!

  14. Sherry, I have enjoyed your tangle posts. Each one is such a work of art. You have inspired me to try my hand at Zentangle. I have been spending a bit if time in doctor waiting rooms as well. Practicing has made the time fly. I hope that one day my tangles are as beautiful as yours are. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration.
    Blessings,
    Terri

  20. […] I’ve been inspired by Sherry to try my hand at Zentangle.   Definitely not a ‘natural’ at it.  (Ok, personally I totally stink at it)   Matter of fact, I have several tiles that I have not finished.  The ones I did finish are not very good but I thought I’d share and play along with Sherry’s Tangle Tuesday:  […]

  21. Sherry, Thank you so much for sharing the Tangle.com blog/store. I have bought their kit and I am looking forward to sharing Tangle Time Tuesday with you all. Your tangles are beautiful and very inspiring.
