Good morning!  Well  . . . I’ve got to tell ya . . .  I had a great time at StampAway on Saturday!  I was able to see some old friends that I haven’t seen for some time, and I also got to finally meet some people that I’ve been friends with on Facebook, but have never met in person.  It was a great day and I’m so glad I went!

I took a little heat on Saturday from one of my traveling companions because I don’t make cards that are mailable.  She said to me as I got out of the car, make us a card and mail it to us . . .  like she knows I don’t make cards that  can be mailed without a padded envelope and extra postage.  I laughed and thought to myself that it would be a cold day in hell when that happened!

Here’s the deal!  I don’t make single layered, clean and simple cards for a reason.  They just aren’t me!  I also find them very difficult to make . . .  I have to down-shift the gears and when I’m finished, I think I still need to add more.

Well, I took this latest development as a personal challenge!  (Of course, what I am going to show you today looks to me like it’s not done and needs so much more to be complete.)   No ribbon . . . No dimensional flower . . .  No big bow . . . BUT . . .

I did use a new stamp set that I picked up on Saturday from Art Impressions Shake Your Booty line, Bloomer Set

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copic Markers.  Now I have to admit, that I have not pulled out the Copic Markers in I don’t know how long . . . . way too long apparently!  The background papers are some old BasicGrey that I found in my stash when I was looking for something that would match the coloring.

What I like in particular, is the shaker on the inside!

Each Shake Your Booty sets comes with one Action Wobble, but I knew one would not be enough so I bought a package of extras!

The booty was stamped twice (once on the inside front of the card and the second time on a spare sheet of paper), colored and then the second was trimmed out and affixed with the Action Wobble.

The sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card in Memento Tuxedo Black.

I’m pretty sure this card will fit in an invitation size envelope and will require NO extra postage.  I’m also pretty sure that I won’t be mailing this card out . . . I’ll give it to my mother (who loves my funny women cards) to mail to one of her friends.  Then again, I may be making a few more of these just to keep on hand . . .

Thanks for stopping by and for bearing with me on my quest to create a card that can be mailed without the padded envelope and does not require extra postage.  Inspiration hits at the funniest time doesn’t it?

  1. LOVE it!!!!!!!!!

  2. Your card is cute, but I agree, it’s lacking something. I do the same thing but then when I mail it, it’s more money, more envelopes and a pain. So try to give the ones with more stuff in person and mail the simpler ones. ???? What can we say. Edna

  3. Cute, cute, cute! I missed a bow on the front, too, but it was still fun!

  4. Sherry, I know what you mean about the cas cards; I have trouble making them too for the same reason…lol. I own several Art Obsession stamps; love your newest shake your booty!

  5. I can’t make a simple flat card – mine are loaded, so that’s is why I use clear envelopes and clear mailing boxes that are made for the kind of cards we make. They do take more postage, but not that much and really worth it and everyone loves being able to see the cards through the clear envelopes and boxes.

  6. I loved the card; I always love these humorous cards from Art Impressions. When I looked at it asking your question what more could be done? I thought of a shadow stamp design of some kind on the background panel. I have several of their stamps just waiting to be inked and you’ve inspired me to do just that! Thanks.

  7. Too cute……Love it……
