Rubbernecker Classes!

Published by Sherry Cheever under Classes, Rubbernecker

As I write this post my heart is heavy and I’m really quite depressed.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, all of my scheduled classes have been cancelled.  I’m terribly sorry if you have already enrolled in some of them, please request a refund from Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo.  Where I go from here, I don’t have a clue . . . it’s been a pretty tough week to say the least.

EDITED TO ADD:  This was not my decision and everything is great with my family.  No worries there!

I’m Home!

Published by Sherry Cheever under Classes, Rubbernecker

Hey all!  After a long flight from Colorado, a 3 hour lay over at Midway and then another weather delay, I finally made it home last night.  What a long weekend it was.  I didn’t remember how tired I always got when working one of these shows.  However, I must say that the pleasure of meeting so many online friends all in one place makes up for it.  Colorado is gorgeous and the weather was a little cooler than I thought, but oh my  . . .  not having all that Ohio Valley humidity . . . well it just made me do this . . . Smiley from millan.net

Even without any promotion, I did have a couple of classes over the weekend.  Much to my amazement, Holly McMillen was walking down an aisle when I spotted her.  Of course, I dropped what I was doing and immediately ran toward her.  It was great fun to finally meet her, but the best  . . .  she took one of my classes!  So not only did I get to meet Holly, but we did kinda stamp together too!

I wasn’t able to get a picture with Holly, but I did with Cindy Motherway and all the girls working the booth!

From left to right, that’s Kathy (Cindy’s sister-in-law), me, Cindy (mothermark) and Madeline!  It was fabulous to finally meet the girls and spend the weekend having fun with them.  We did have our moments too!

What you can’t see, is that I had coffee all down the front of my shirt.  Both days, wait all three days, I spilled my coffee carrying stuff in the first trip in the morning.  This day, I wore my apron back to the hotel it was soooooo BAD!

So today is laundry and catch-up day!  I leave again on Friday for Colorado Springs (were I will hopefully be offering classes again).  It all depends on space and what type of promotion I get.  If can’t get my classes in, I will be demoing part of the classes and selling some class kits.  My class registration for Tinley Park, Illinois is already up if you are in the area and want to spend time laughing with me!  Class registration for the St. Paul classes opens at noon on August 18th.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

I’m Going on the Road!

Published by Sherry Cheever under Classes, Rubbernecker

Smiley from millan.netHey ya’ll!  I hope everyone has had a great week and an even better weekend.  I know I’ve been absent most of this week, but when I tell you what I’ve been up too . . .  Well, I hope you are as excited as I am!

First, what a great day I had yesterday.  I went to Stampaway Cincinnati with the girls in my Stamp Club.  We got there right after the show opened, and the place was packed.  You couldn’t move down the aisles, let alone get in some of the booths.  I was so excited to see some of my friends from the show circuit there, and I also got to see Kelley from Our Daily Bread.  It had been a year since I’d seen her last and this year she had her own booth set up!  I bought a few embellishments that I had been looking for and some great chipboard books.  I think my best purchase was some collage stamps from Magenta.  You’ll be seeing those very soon!

Now for the super-secret real reason I haven’t been posting this week!  Mr. Rubbernecker, Dave, has asked me to begin teaching a series of classes at each of the upcoming shows in Colorado, Chicago, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Albuquerque, and Phoenix.  I’ll be hitting the road!!!  Smiley from millan.net If you’ve ever wondered how I do “that inky thing I do” or how I make one of my coaster boxes now’s your chance!  I’ll be teaching 3 classes on Saturdays and 2 on Sundays at each of the above shows.  I’ll also be teaching classes on how to use the Melting Pot and UTEE, similar to these.

I’ve put the Show Schedule on the Rubbernecker Blog, but I’ve made a page here on my blog as well.  My first show will be in Loveland, Colorado this coming weekend and then in Colorado Springs the following weekend.

Origami Note Box

9:45-11:45 Saturday $25 and 10:45-12:45 Sunday $25

24 Students

– Make a spectacular lidded box using Spellbinders Die Templates and chipboard coasters. The box is sized to hold post-it notes but can be used as a gift and/or trinket box. This little box will have your friends and family oooing and cooing.

Melt Art Ornaments

12:30-2:30 Saturday $25 and 1:30-3:30 Sunday $25

24 Students

– Make 2 different holiday ornaments and 1 pin using UTEE, Tim Holtz Ideaology embellishments and the Ranger Melting Pot. This is the latest technique from the mind of Suze Weinberg at Summer CHA with Sherry’s personal spin.

Tag Mania

3:15-4:30 Saturday $25

24 Students

– Learn different distressing techniques using Ranger products. Techniques used are Wrinkle-Free Distress, Faux Batik and using Alcohol Inks in different ways. Each of these techniques will provide countless application opportunities and give you 3 great background tags to take home.

Now this is truly a shameless plug, but if you will be attending the shows, are in the area and want to take a class, here’s how:  Preregister for the classes at Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo, click on shows from the drop down menu, click on the city, pick classes from the sidebar and then the register button.  This page will show you a list of all the classes and then you can register.  You will also be able to register at the door.  If for any reason you go to the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo and my classes aren’t up yet, please use this contact page.

Smiley from millan.net I think that’s all I have for today!  If I can get into the studio this afternoon, I’ll something new for you tomorrow.  Maybe with those new Magenta stamps . . . Thanks for stopping by today!
