Are You a Good Witch . . .

or a Bad Witch?

Happy Thursday!  I’ve got another Halloween card to share today but first let me answer a question about the Vintage Glass Glitter from yesterday.  I’ve been using this glitter for a number of years now and for me, there’s nothing else that compares to it.  My favorite and what I used on the snowflake in yesterday’s post is Barbara Trombley’s Art Institute Glitter.  I personally like the shards in Krystallos.   You can find it at the links above, or at Simon Says Stamp.

Now for my card!  A week or so ago . . . honestly I can’t remember when exactly . . . a lot of my time has been spent helping Katie and the new wee one . . .

Hadlee Monday

who has literally stolen each of our hearts . . . especially her Auntie Mallory’s!

Anyhoo . . . back to the card!  I pulled out some of my favorite Halloween stamps, Stampendous – Witch Shoes and Inky Antics – Good Witch, and this is what I came up with.

The image was water colored with Distress Ink Refills and the seam binding was dyed in matching Shaded Lilac Distress Ink.

That’s it for me today!  I have to tell y’all that there is already new Winter CHA Product hitting my doorstep . . . deadlines looming . . . . no wonder it feels like this year is flying by!

Thanks for stopping by!

Obeying the Rules!

Well, it’s the beginning of a new week and so far, I think, it’s going to be a quieter week than last.  My sister is finally home and on the mend.  She had her fourth surgery last week . . . this one to add screws and metal plates to her knee and tibia.  Mallory had some more tests last week, and we still don’t have the answer to what is causing her problems.  Grasping at straws and on some advice from one of my sister’s nurses, we are now thinking gallbladder . . . hopefully I can talk to the doctor today about it.  That’s the family update for now . . .

Saturday I was browsing around the internet, doing a little shopping of this and that, and decided that I needed to go through my Studio 490 sets to see what I was missing and needed.  (Well of course I need them all, but  . . . there is this green stuff . . . ).  I was flipping through Wendy’s Studio 490 Book VI and one of her projects, Remembering Paris, on page 41 struck me.  It was more her Art Parts for the project and all the layering.  I was inspired!

Off I trotted to the studio and decided to try my hand at making the base pieces of the project with Printers Chipboard and my Spellbinders™.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted to use Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe or A Ladies’ Diary, but got this wild idea to pull out an old Inky Antics sentiment stamp which led me to use A Ladies’ Diary.

The base was made from Printers Chipboard die cut with Grand Labels Eleven.  The next layer is one die smaller with a Grand Oval in the middle, also die cut from Printers Chipboard.

From this angle, you can see the depth of the die cuts and all the layers.

The large flower was made with Grand Peony Creations and the small flowers were made with Bitty Blossoms.

The sentiment was stamped on a manila tag that had been covered with Antique Linen and Bundled Sage Distress Ink.   It was die cut/embossed with Labels and Tags, then stenciled with Tumbled Glass.  Can you see the faint white stamping?  That’s the leaf border from Studio 490 It’s Face Art stamped in Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx.

ObeyAllTheRulesSentiment

I think I’m tired of obeying all the rules . . . I need a little fun in  my life!  Speaking of fun . . . it’s Summer CHA time.  I had to pass on going this summer because of all the family stuff going on, but I’ll be looking for photos, videos and anything else I can find online!

Thanks for stopping by today and remember . . .  life is short, make the most of the adventures that come your way!

Oh and don’t forget to come back tomorrow  . . . it’s Tangle Time Tuesday #2!

It’s Tea Time!

Happy Thursday!  At least I think it’s Thursday . . . .

I know I’ve been a little quiet this week, and for damn good reason.  I had another skin cancer on my upper lip that I had Mohs Surgery for on Monday.  Of course, that means sitting with feet up, head back and doing nothing for three days.  This is now my third day and I can’t wait to take a shower tomorrow.  That’s the first day I can get the area wet.  Thank goodness there are reruns of Swamp People on today so I can catch up on what I’ve missed this season!

In the absence of me hitting the studio and getting a little inky (forbidden by the doctor because I would have to bend my head down), I remembered that I had one more card for Inky Antics that I haven’t shared yet.

SherryCheeverTeaCupDaisyCard

Image stamped on Neenah paper in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. Die cut/embossed with various circles, edges sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Each layer separated with foam squares. Edge of background paper (green) was die cut/embossed with Edgeabilities, scored and folded over the front. The yellow layer was die cut/embossed with the same Edgeabilities, cut an inch longer, and layered beneath the green layer. Background paper was sponged with Antique Linen and stitched to green layer.

Seam binding dyed with a touch of Antique Linen.

Sentiments stamped in Archival Jet Black and layered on petite ovals. Edges of paper sponged in Antique Linen before stitching together.

That’s all for me today.  Thanks for stopping by and remember  . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures that come your way!

Catching Up with Inky Antics!

I don’t know where my head has been Smiley from millan.net. . . oh wait . . . we don’t need to even go there! Smiley from millan.net

I completely forgot all about my Sundays at Inky Antics the last couple of weeks.  Maybe some day I’ll slow down enough to get organized Smiley from millan.net

Here’s a direct link to the card week before last, April 22.  I’m afraid that it’s a little to late for you to enter into the contest, but you can still read my interview.

Now I remember why I missed that Sunday . . . I was with Mallory at her last Mother/Daughter sorority thingy . . . they pinned me as an honorary Sigma Kappa with a Mother’s pin.

Anyho, I’m still going to show you the card here, mainly because I have to because I’ve used lots of Spellbinders™.

SherryCheeverWateringCanApril2012

All the coloring is done with Copic Markers and the background was embossed with Regal M-Bossabilities.  I love how the background came out!  I was going for that black/white with a pop of color thing there.  The seam binding was dyed first with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink, and because it needed to be a little darker to match the tulips a touch of Barn Door was added.

Here’s the inside:

I can’t tell y’all how much fun I had working with these Inky Antic images . . . it was truly my pleasure!

That’s it for me right now, I’ll have another for you a little later.  I’m also working on my project for the challenge over at the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo Group . . . I might get it done before I have to leave again.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember to embrace the adventures that come your way today!

Sunday Stamping at Inky Antics!

Happy weekend!  It sure seems the past week flew by, and I didn’t get much accomplished at all.  Mallory has been home all week and will be going back to school today . . . feeling a little better than when she came home a week ago, but not by much.  It’s just one of those things she’s going to have to endure until all passes Smiley from millan.net

Over the last few days I have been able to get all my class samples made, write ups done, and supplies ordered.  While I’m waiting on most of the supplies to come in, I’ve been able to pre-paint some of the smaller stuff that’s going to be used.  As soon as I see that the classes are up and open for registration, I’ll let you know.

Today on the Inky Antics Rubber Stamps Blog, Jackie has posted another of my cards.

SherryCheeverCalligraphyFlowerApril2012

I really like the colors of this one and found the perfect papers to match.

If you hop over to this post, you can read more about the card and more of my interview with Jackie!

Thanks for stopping by here today and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures that some your way!
