Butterflies are Free!

Happy Tuesday!  How y’all doing?  Wow it has been busy around here . . . lots of crafty time!  I’ve been super busy with monthly projects, tutorials and class projects.  Yes, you read correct class projects . . . we’ll cover that a little more later.

I’ve had a couple of sets of stamps sitting around the studio since November or December.  I can’t really remember when I got them, all I can remember is that I haven’t had time to get them inky.  This weekend I made a point to sit down and color up some images (some for some special projects and some for play).  After walking the little shihtz’ this morning (great weather here finally), I decided to put together a card or two with some of those images.

The one I have today is made with JustRite Stampers Botanical Butterflies.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and then die cut/embossed/layered with Spellbinders™ circles.

ButterflySpellbindersCardMarch13(6)

I don’t know why I’m in a white mood lately, but white paper is calling me.  Instead of building upon the white, I added some black and then dyed the seam binding to match the colors of the butterfly.

ButterflyCardMarch13

To get the seam binding to just the right color, I started with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  It was a little too red for my taste, so I kept adding Chipped Sapphire to be the right touch of blue with the purple.

The background was embossed with the new M-Bossabilities, Elite.  I couldn’t resist a little sponging, with Antique Linen, and some sewing.  The end flap on the card was die cut/embossed with Grand Labels Four.

That’s all I have for now.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Stamping!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!  I’ve been racing . . . it is Daytona weekend after all . . . and during today’s Nationwide race I finished up a couple of projects I want to share.

I was working with My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found – Union Square 6×6 paper pad and decided to do both projects with the same paper.

The first project is a tag, which started as a manila shipping tag and ended up like this.

TagUnionSquare

The Union Square was sewn to the manila tag, then backed with black cardstock hoping for a little pop!

The flower is JustRite’s Kaleidoscope Medallions Set.  The medallion was stamped out three times and colored with Copic Markers.  Please don’t look at the tiny coloring in the photo . . . it’s only to show you how I layered the medallion.  When I first saw this set, I immediately thought of flowers . . . you know how I am!  The leaf is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper that was die cut/embossed with the Spellbinders Foliage die template, then colored with Copic Markers.

TagFlowerCloseup

The heart and wings were die cut/embossed from Mix’d Media Elements and then covered with Distress Stickles . . . Fired Brick on the heart and Rock Candy on the wings (which were stenciled with Antique Linen ink).

TagHeartCloseup

I felt the top of the tag was a little plain, so I added some dots of Ranger Black Enamel Accents.

My second project, is this cute little 3×3 card.

3x3MiniCard

The base of the card is Kraft cardstock die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangles, then folded in half.  The black layer (which originally was going to be my base), was die cut/embossed with Long Classic Rectangles.  Of course, the paper is from the Lost & Found – Union Square 6×6 pad.

3x3FlowerCloseUp

The flower was die cut/embossed with Bitty Blossoms as were the leaves.  The leaves were Neenah white and colored with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I love how the embossed areas look darker than the rest of the leaf.

While I’m thinking about it . . .  if you follow one of the links for product below and what you are looking for is sold out and/or unavailable, PLEASE let me know! eclectic Paperie is changing up the products carried in the store and some items may no longer be available.  I have a new supplier for those products and I can give you new links and change the ones for my product lists!  This would help me out too, because I hate to send you for something and it not be available any longer, and then I’ll know if it’s not there.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

A Christmas Linky Party!

Good evening!  Have y’all heard about the JustRite Stampers Christmas Linky Party?  If you haven’t checked it out yet, you really should.  There are many great projects uploaded and I’m uploading mine today with this post.  As part of the rules, you need to post the Party Badge on your blog:

JR Nov Release Linky Party 11 Icon

I just read that there are gifts to be given out all week . . .

Here’s my project for the party!

LinkyParty BlizzardBuddies

The background paper (Fancy Pants Saint Nick) was distressed and then sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The ribbon and bow was made from seam binding that was dyed with Graphic 45 Decades Venetian Lace Ink.

LinkyParty CloseUpSnowman

One of the snowmen from the Blizzard Bunch set was colored with Copic Markers.  The snowman was then masked and the background was airbrushed (all except for the snow).

LinkyParty CloseUpSnowflake

The snowflake was die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ Create-A-Flake Three and stenciled with Donna Salazar Mixed Media Peridot Ink.  Once the ink was dry, Ranger Matte Accents was applied to the stenciled areas, then glass shard glitter was added to the accents.  Once every thing was dry, the snowflake was assembled with Matte Accents and the button was added with waxed twine.

That’s all for me today.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures that come your way!

I’m sure that probably by now you are interested in what project I made for the hop.  Well, I won’t make you wait any longer.  The only requirement given, was that the Designer must use product from all three companies.  I decided on a wall hanging.

JustRiteSpellbindersW2SBlogHop September7

Using a page from Want2Scrap 8×8 Decorative Design Chipboard Album as the base, it was covered with Graphic 45 Fashionista Papers (Debutante and Haute Couture).  The edges were sanded away and then sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The shelf was made from a piece of hobby wood trim that was painted charcoal black, sanded in various spots and highlighted with Vintage Photo Distress Stain.

JustRiteSpellbindersW2SBlogHop CLOSEUPPOSTCARD

The postcard is made by coloring a manila tag using the Wrinkle-Free Distress Technique with Bundle Sage, Old Paper and Antique Linen Distress Inks.   Images from JustRite Stampers  Greetings from Paris were stamped in Ranger Archival Coffee and Fired Brick Distress Ink.  The edges were distressed and then sponged with Vintage Photo.  The frame and flower were both made with Graphic 45 Fashionista En Vogue.  The frame was die cut from printers chipboard with Spellbinders Labels Four.

JustRiteSpellbindersW2SBlogHop CLOSEUPCENTER

The label above was another manila tag that was colored with Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage and Fired Brick Distress Inks.  The image from JustRite Stampers Greetings from Paris was stamped in Archival Coffee and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Four.  The edges were sponged with Vintage Photo.  The green leaf behind the trinket pins is Want2Scrap Embellishment Style A, that was painted with Peeled Paint Distress Stain and then covered with Peeled Paint Distress Stickles.

JustRiteSpellbindersW2SBlogHop CLOSEUPRIGHT

The trinket pins are Maya Road Vintage Pearl and Crystal.  The Pearl were covered in Lake Mist Alcohol Ink and the Crystal in Lemonade Alcohol Ink.  The flowers, using Spellbinders Rose Creations, were die cut from Graphic 45 Fashionista Le Fleur and Buttons A La Mode, shaped and then dipped in UTEE for the Faux Porcelain Technique. The center of each flower is a corsage pin that was colored with Lemonade Alcohol Ink.     The leaves were die cut from GrungePaper with Spellbinders Foliage and painted with Crushed Olive Distress Stain.

Well, I think that’s it for me and my project.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the Blog Hop! Oh and remember, your comment counts toward an entry for a prize.

It’s Time to Make Snowflakes!

Happy Wednesday!  I can’t believe that it is already 2:30 in the afternoon and I’m still putzing around trying to get things started.  I took all the little shihtzes to the groomer this morning  and then I got my new printer installed to the network.  WOO HOO . . . now I can print from my iPad!

While I’m waiting for the groomer to call and tell me my brood is ready, I thought I would show you the last card I did last weekend.  I saved this one for last because it’s my favorite of all three.

SnowmanCard((5SB)

The image is from JustRite Stampers Blizzard Bunch, which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and colored with Copic Markers.

Copics for Snowman

The paper is Memory Box Yuletide that I picked up from Papertrix my last visit.  The edges were distressed with scissors and then the edges were sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.    The ribbon is seam binding that I dyed with the pink ink that matched the cardstock.

SnowmanCard CloseUpSnowflake

I finally broke out my new Spellbinders snowflakes and got to use them on this card too!  The flake was die cut/embossed from Neenah paper, stenciled with a combination of Aqua Adirondacks and Antique Linen.  Each layer was covered with Glossy Accents and then sprinkled with Krystallos Vintage Glass Glitter.  The snowflake is held together by wire threaded through a button and down through the center of the flake.

Well y’all, that’s it for today.  I’m still waiting for the groomer to call so I think I’ll kill some time in the studio.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . embrace the adventures of the day!
