Good morning and Smiley from millan.net.  Just a quick post today since I’m still up to my eyeballs in CHA projects, blog stuff, blah blah blah.

My card today is another one using my new Webster’s Pages and Wordsworth Remembering stamps.  I absolutely LOVE this sentiment and I actually do love storms!

To add some interest to the scalloped circle, I punched a tiny hold in each scallop and darn it all . . . you can’t even seem them in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fab day!

Good Monday morning!  I hope y’all had a fabulous weekend.  I spent yesterday recuperating from Saturday’s big party.  I knew I shouldn’t have eaten all that junk but oh my golly . . . the beer was so icy cold and the food smelled so good!

After lolling around in the recliner most of the day working on some blog stuff and there was a race I had to run . . . I ended up in the studio working on a card.  Now seriously, this card took me all of 30 minutes to make even with the sewing.

Did I tell you how much I LOVE the new Webster’s Pages I got from Sharon at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store?  Oh my goodness . . . did you see me drool?  This time I used the combo pack Lullaby Lane and Life’s Portrait.  The design on the  bottom of the paper is so gorgeous I couldn’t for the life of me cover it!

The stamp set is another Wordsworth Remembering, Life Affirming.  I stamped the flowers in the background using Old Paper and then the sentiment was stamped in black.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to take advantage of the adventures that come your way today!

Good Saturday morning!  Did I tell you that my daughter, Kate, got married back in March?  Oh I did!  Here’s their picture on this post.  I said then that we would eventually give them a reception.  Well, today is the day!  All the family and friends have been invited to Kate and Will’s new home for an Open House, a barbecue and plenty of libations!  They are very excited to have everyone visit so they can show off the new digs . . . . they’ve been doing so much work on it and it’s an adorable little house.  I’m so excited to be seeing out-of-town family especially since it’s for a joyous occasion instead of something sad.  I’m sure I’ll have plenty of pictures by the end of the day!

I received some new stamps in the mail before I left for Orlando and then this week I received some new Webster’s Pages.  Oh wow!  I decided to take some time last night and whip out a card using all my new stuff.  It was nice to take a break from all the CHA projects that are spread out all over the house.  I could barely find the new papers . . . actually, everything is such a mess (so unlike me) that I really can’t find anything.  I’m just about at my wits end with it all and will have to clean and put away before I start the next round of projects.

Okay, so here’s my card.  I’ve had this in mind since I saw the set (Wordsworth Remembering – Poetry of the Earth).

SherryCheeverNatureSoothes

I stamped the trees lightly with Crushed Olive and then stamped the sentiment over the top in Coffee.  The paper is sewn to a background piece of cardstock.  The only thing inked is the sentiment.  I sanded the edges of the background papers.

This card is also for the Stamp Simply Saturday Hop – Dressed in White!  You need to check out Sharon Johnson’s blog and all the white and ivory ribbon packages she’s made.  They look fabulous! All the white and ivory ribbon when ordered by the spool is on sale at 15% off.

Good Tuesday morning! I hope y’all had a good day yesterday. I ended up getting my hair trimmed, ran a few errands, stopped by my mom’s for a bit and ended up getting home mid-afternoon. Just about the time I was feeling an afternoon nap coming on I had a brain storm (no giggles from the peanut gallery . . . . yes, it hurt) for a project. I finally ended up in the studio just about dinner time. I worked that out perfectly, because I didn’t have to cook at all . . . Mallory and Lance did!

I had one of the frames left that I had picked up early for 69¢ that I decided to alter. I recently received some new papers and stamps and felt it was time to break them out.

BasicGrey Cappella is used on everything from the inside of the frame to the flower and butterfly on the outside. The flower, leaves and butterfly are made from Grunge Paper that was covered with Cappella papers. The middle of the flower is an old clip earring and the middle of the butterfly is also part of an earring. The sentiment is from one of my new Wordsworth Remembering sets. This little frame was just too much fun to work on!

That’s it for now . . . a quick little post. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Smiley from millan.net Happy Tuesday! I know, I know . . . . I’ve been MIA. It’s been hard for me to go into the studio to work lately. I’m still working on getting my Stampfest Orlando class pulled together, and quite frankly once I finished that project the mojo Smiley from millan.net went on vacation. Finally this afternoon I went into the studio to work, the phone started ringing and after spending close to 2 hours on the phone, I finally got to my project. Roseanne Roseannadanna comes to mind . . . . “Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it’s always something.” If it’s not the mojo going on vacation, it’s the damn telephone ringing! (By the way, if you click on the Roseannadanna link above, it will take you to my favorite skit – the one about the little teensy, tiny sweat ball hanging on the end of Dr. Joyce Brothers’ nose)

I suppose I should get down to today’s business at hand . . . .

This month the theme for the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Blog Hop is “The Sweet Smells of Summer.” Ah summer . . . I LOVE summer! The flowers, the sun, the water, freshly mowed grass, barbecues, icy cold beer, grapefruit juice and vodka (lip smacking refreshing) . . . you name it, there’s not anything I don’t like about summer. Well wait, maybe a dead fish on the river bank . . . . eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww, Smiley from millan.net!

When I was thinking about this project, I thought of the river . . . the Ohio River, when my dad was alive and my parents lived on the river. Yes, we had boats and wave runners to play on Smiley from millan.net, but most importantly, we had family get togethers every holiday Smiley from millan.net! We didn’t ask what we were doing on any given holiday, we simply knew . . . . What time should we be at the river? That was always the question. I LOVE the river! It may be brown when the water is high, but there’s a soothing quality about it. I could sit on a boat all day, drinking my Miller Lite Smiley from millan.net and forget that anything else even existed. I love a sunset on the river and then the full moon reflecting on the water. It was comforting to sit and watch the boats go up and down the river, to hear the calliope from the Belle of Louisville or her whistle when she was getting ready to turn, and fascinating to watch a regatta when all the colorful sails were up.

My card today is all about the river! Red, white and blue for all the family holidays spent there, the last sailboat making its way to dock at sunset, and the soothing memories that the river brings me. Oh how I LOVE the river!
