I don’t know what it is with me this week, but I’m absolutely being drawn to white with a pop of color!  Perhaps it’s because everything else around me is in total disarray and the lack of choices in color is calming for me.  Whatever it is . . . I’m hooked!

For those of you who have followed me for a long time know . . . white, clean and simple is just not my thing!  I think I might have a fever!!

ReindeerCard

From the moment I first saw the Spellbinders® Frosty Forms Die Templates, I’ve been wanting to do something with the reindeer.  Believe me . . . I’ve tried!  I’ve never been able to make it work . . . until now.  All white!

All the paper for this card is watercolor, and every other layer has been embossed with polysparkle embossing powder.

To give the card some dimension, each oval section is raised with foam mounting tape.

For added bling, a small pearl was colored with R59 Cardinal Copic (I can’t find my rhinestones in all my chaos).

Maybe tomorrow I’ll be out of my white mood . . .  or then again, maybe not!

Thanks for joining me today!

Hey  . . . it’s me . . . Sherry!  Have you missed me?  I’ve missed y’all!

I honestly don’t know where the month of December has gone and how it came to be the end already and I’m still trying to get it all together.  I’ve been a little tired this month that’s for sure  . . . new rising times and bed times for this Grandma.  5:30 am comes awful early and then I can hardly make it a couple of hours after Hadlee leaves for the day until I’m ready to hit the sheets and start all over.  But I have to ask you . . .

Hadlee

isn’t she just precious?

She’s growing leaps and bounds and even though I’ve been terribly exhausted . . . I wouldn’t trade my days with her for anything.  I’m truly blessed!

Apart from being tired, my mojo took a walk one day and so far . . . hasn’t returned.  I’ve got another week or so to try and find it before Hadlee comes back from the holidays so with any luck . . . it’ll be just around the corner!

Sadly I’ve found myself in need of a few sympathy cards over the last week and that’s what I worked on today.  I wanted something classic, clean and simple without too much going on.

Now to find out all the details and such, you’ll have to hop over to the eP Blog and take a look  . .  . but as you can see, it is exactly what I wanted . . . clean and simple and completely different than what I would normally do.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Project Supplies:

Good morning!  I know this is Tuesday, and I should be posting a tangle, but I got a little Smiley from millan.net yesterday with something I should have been working on the last few days.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed my new sidebar, but it was announced last week on the Quietfire Creations Blog and in their newsletter that there was a new design team . . . and I’m one of the new designers.  I was fortunate enough to spend some quality time with Suzanne, owner of Quietfire Designs,  at Winter CHA last January, and when she emailed asking if I would be on the design team . . . of course I had to say yes!  I’ve been using her sentiments for some of my framed pieces, etc., for quite some time now.  I really do love the calligraphy designs and how well they work with altered pieces.

One of the new releases she sent was made specifically to coordinate with Spellbinders™ Labels One – Happy Family Days.

p-2895

I decided to incorporate the new M-Bossabilities Framed Labels One and Bitty Blossoms.

HappyBirthdayAugust2012

Neenah Classic Crest Solar White was used for the embossed panel.  The sentiment was stamped in Schoolhouse Mix’d Media Inx, then embossed with clear embossing powder.

HappyBirthdayCloseUpCenter

The flower was die cut/embossed from red cardstock with Bitty Blossoms.  After the flower was assembled, the edges were sponged with Jasmine Mix’d Media Inx.

HappyBirthdayCloseUpFlower

The leaves were die cut/embossed from white cardstock, stenciled with Mossy Mix’d Media Inx and then misted with water to let the green ink run.

I suppose that’s all I have for now.  Thanks for stopping by today!  Oh my gosh, do you realize that I think I just posted a clean and simple card . . . well clean at least and simple for me!

Happy Tuesday!  Yesterday I promised you some stampy fun today.  Well, I’m almost embarrassed to show you my card . . . . I’m asking myself now what in the hell was I thinking.  I actually think this will a test of styles . . . it will be perfect for it.

So I was thinking (oh my BADness, yes it hurt!) that I wanted black and white, with a pop of color.  It’s been a very long time since I’ve done that.  Believe it or not, this card is clean and simple for me . . . no sponging, no extra embellishments, (or for pity sake . . . what in the hell was I thinking?)

Well, we might as well get this over with . . .

GirlfriendsApril12(4)

As you can see, it’s pretty simple.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and then everything else   . . . well, simple black and white.  The embossing of the Spellbinders dies gave me a perfect edge to add some faux stitching (something else I haven’t done in a long time).  The image is fairly large in size and to find a die to fit left too much white space.   I didn’t want that.  I found the size of die I needed, marked the edges of overhang, and trimmed the image out to fit under my die when I cutting and embossing.  Pretty cool!

I think the next time I use this image it will be inky!

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures that come your way!
