The E-Team Makes Art . . . Studio 490 Style!

Studio490Bloghop

The E-Team has been challenged by none other, THE Wendy Vecchi herself, to use Studio 490 stamps and Art Parts for this week’s Blog Hop!  To make the challenge even more interesting, Micki and I got together and brainstormed (yes it DID hurt) on other ideas that we could incorporate.  The result of that session, was that The E-Team had to make an altered item with the Studio 490 stamps and Art Parts.

This wouldn’t be an E-Team Hop without some prizes!  There will be two random winners from comments left on The E-Team’s blogs.  These two winners will receive 1 new Studio 490 stamp set, Art Parts Square & Rectangle Frame and some other fun surprises.   There will be one winner picked from comments left on the eP Blog too.  In order to win on the eP Blog, you must leave a comment about your favorite mother’s day gift you have either received or given.  The eP Blog winner will receive a $25 voucher to eclectic Paperie.

Comments can be left from Friday 7:00 am EST until Sunday night at Midnight EST.  The winners will be announced on the eP Blog on Monday.  Also during this hop, Daisy has discounted all Studio 490 stamps and Art Parts by 10%.

So, in the words of Wendy . . . let’s Make Art!

I had an idea for today’s project, but when I saw what the other E-Team members had posted, I changed my mind and decided to use something else.

Here’s what I started with (a paper mache bird from Eco Green Crafts).

AlteredBirdBEFORE

and here’s what I ended up with.

AlteredBirdSIDE

I call it my “dirty” bird in her “Derby” hat!

The bird was covered in Graphic45 Le Cirque papers.   The body of bird was covered in torn pieces of the paper which was adhered and covered with Ranger Glue & Seal.  The wings are made of GrungeBoard (painted with Broken China Distress Stain) and the flower and tail feathers with GrungePaper.   The base was painted with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Charcoal Black paint.  The key is from Art Parts For the Guys.  It was painted with gold and then sponged over with Black Soot Distress Ink.

AlteredBirdSTRAIGHT

Straight on you can see two of the Art Parts used.  The watch Art Part was painted with Vintage Photo Distress Stain and the insert is a tag from Graphic45 Le Cirque.  I added a metal flower, light bulb and an old heart and key from an old bracelet.  The base of the hat is a small circle from Art Parts Sample Pack.  The eyes are black brads, which also hold the wings on.

Here’s a close-up of the hat.

AlteredBirdHAT

The stamps used are a combination from Studio 490 It’s More Flower Art, Live and Make Art, which were over-stamped with the background from Dimensional Rose Art.    They were painted with Broken China, Fired Brick and Wild Honey Distress Stains.  The center is a button from my stash.

AlteredBirdTAILFEATHERS

Shake your tail feathers!  Made from GrungePaper and stamped with Funky Flower Art, the layers were painted with Broken China and Wild Honey Distress Stains.  The center is the smallest circle from Art Parts Sample Pack.

Well, I think that’s all for me except . . .

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to visit the other members of The E-Team!
