Smiley from

I’m still working on CHA projects, but I became a little Smiley from yesterday afternoon when I finished up one, getting ready to start the last.

I’m really enjoying my playtime the last few weeks – delving into old techniques and just being stampy.  Yesterday was no exception.  I’ve had this bug you see . . . Roses in Winter.  Well, I finally opened the cabinet,  hunted through tons of old sets and found it . . . I would have to say, that this might very well be my most favorite set of all time!  I know that the wood blocks are stained beyond recognition, which would tell anyone that the set has been well used and well loved.

I’ve always used craft or chalk ink with this set, but decided to update it and use Distress Inks this time.

Using the Rock and Roll Technique, the stamp was inked first in Dried Marigold and then the edges in Worn Lipstick.  The smaller single flower from the set was stamped in Worn Lipstick, the leaves in Forest Moss and Crushed Olive, then the old (retired) French Script Background was over-stamped in Vintage Photo.

The image was die cut/embossed with Classic Squares SM, and then stenciled with Antique Linen.  The die cut image was then layered on varying sizes of squares, separated with foam adhesive squares.

When I placed the image on the pink paper (My Mind’s Eye – Lost and Found Madison Avenue), I could help put use it for the base of the card.  Even though the pink of the paper is lighter, there’s a light touch of pink in the image that makes it work.

The seam binding was dyed with Worn Lipstick (video tutorial) and then woven through some Graphic 45 trim.

Well, that’s all for me!  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . .  life is short, take advantage of the adventures that come your way today.
