Today Rubbernecker Stamps releases 5 new sets!  To celebrate this release, we invite you to Blog Stroll along with the Rubbernecker Red-Hot Mommas.  The Stroll begins at the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog where you will find the guidelines on how to win one of the four sets being given away during this release.  If you haven’t started at the Rubbernecker Blog, you should go there as soon as possible. That’s where you’ll find the first clue to begin your Stroll and where the key words for the phrase actually starts.  I’ve noticed that some of you don’t start at the Rubbernecker Blog and then leave out part of the words in the phrase you submit.   Sorry y’all but I can’t count those in the drawing for prizes.

I’m very excited about these images and find that they are so versatile.  They can stand alone or be combined to make scenes, collages . . . really, anything you desire to make!  Remember this card?

WRINGLE FREE DISTRESS FINISHED CARD

I used the Butterfly and Flourish Inchies being released today, along with the large Flourish and Floral Silhouettes released earlier.  Pretty sneaky huh?

For today’s card I’m using the new Diva Inchies.  If you like shoes, purses or hats, you’re gonna LOVE this set!  There’s a little BAD humor in today’s card . . . . let’s see if you can put it all together!  Actually, let’s put it together with today’s Blog Stroll.  When you leave your comment to be considered for one of the 4 free stamp sets today, tell me what you would call this card.  I won’t tell you yet what I had in mind  . . . I want to know if you can see it and/or guess it.

DivaInchiesMaeWestMay28

This card actually started out as a card for this week’s WACKY WEDNESDAY Challenge, but then I had another brainstorm (yes, you know it hurt) and had to move on to that idea.  The images were stamped, die cut and embossed to be Inchies, and then they were placed on a layer of pink cardstock.  The pink layer was die cut with the Spellbinders rectangle that I die cut out the middle of the black cardstock.  It fit together beautifully and made its own frame.  The background panel was stamped with Rubbernecker’s new Flourish set.  I found the sentiment in among my Rubbernecker stamps, but because it was rather large for what I wanted, I generated it with the computer to fit my Spellbinders tag.

  • Stamps:  422 Diva Inchies and 463 Flourish Set from Rubbernecker Stamps
  • Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Pink Pirouette and Basic Black
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black; SU Pink Pirouette
  • Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Square and Long Classic/Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, and Tags 5 Shapeabilities; Copic Markers;  Ranger Matte Accents; Doodlebug Designs Lily White Jewels; May Arts Ribbon; Computer; Venture Foam Tape

The Blog Stroll ends with me and my clue in the phrase is:  Inchies Along!  I hope you’ve started at the Rubbernecker Blog, followed the instructions for the hop – visited all the other blogs, left comments, and have found all the phrase clues.

To win one of the newly released sets (or any of the other new releases since April 1), all you have to do is leave me a comment, and then email the phrase (with the correct subject line and your mailing address) that you found on the stroll to me at [email protected].   The Blog Stroll will end at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 28, and the winners will be announced on the Rubbernecker Blog!

I hope you enjoyed the stroll and thanks for stopping at the BAD Side for awhile.

Good morning!  Smiley from millan.net Man has it been hectic the last couple of days.  First, the SCS Blogs were moved to a new server and there was a slight problem that wasn’t fixed until late this afternoon.  Second, I finally broke down and went to the hand surgeon today for this trigger finger of mine.  The thumb on my left hand had started to hurt and it was getting hard to open jars, etc.  I thought I might have truly damaged my thumb.  As it turned out, the thumb was part of the trigger finger issue.  So I got two cortisone shots today, one in my thumb and one in my middle finger.  I’m crossing all 9 toes that this helps for a while!

This week for the Rubbernecker Wacky Wednesday Challenge, Candy has challenged all of us to use inchies on our card or project.  You can get all the details and learn how you can win a 40% off coupon from Rubbernecker Stamps at the Rubbernecker Blog.  You can also visit the Red-Hot Mommas blogs to see other examples!

Now I don’t want you to or anything, but I didn’t distress, sponge, use brads or sand on my card today!  I had to ask my family if I felt warm . . . I truly thought I might have had a fever.

WW12EasterInchieBirthday

The little chick was colored with Copic Markers and then die cut (along with all the layers behind the inchie) with Spellbinders Square Nestabilities.  The background was embossed with the new Spellbinders Paisley Impressabilities . . . isn’t that just the coolest look?  I know you think those are brads in the corners but they are actually Fiskars Dew Drops that I found buried in some junk I had.  I tell ya, there’s absolutely no way in hell that I can remember what I have and where to find it.  I also have to tell you, that this card took me just as long to make as it would for one that I distressed from top to bottom.

I hope y’all have a great day and thanks for dropping in.  I’ve got another dentist appointment today . . . yucky!  This time it’s to see what molars I need root canal on.Smiley from millan.net

Good morning! Smiley from millan.net If y’all are like me, you are running around getting last-minute holiday stuff together and making sure everything is just so!  I’ve got the handmade gifts done, all the presents wrapped and the menu is planned.  Now I only have to finish Smiley from millan.net.  My family will be here Christmas Eve for dinner and then on Christmas Day everyone is free to go visit other family members.

I hate to admit this one.  Even though I’ve been making Christmas cards for weeks, I haven’t gotten one mailed out.  I’m ashamed of myself and maybe, just maybe, I can get Mallory to help in the next day or so and get them out in the post.

I did find some “me” time last night, and got into the studio to stamp a bit.  I looked through all my Christmas stamps, and decided that I just couldn’t make one more.  I settled on something fun and cute instead.

Before I get into the deets on the card though, I should remind you that today is Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker.  It’s been a year now since we started the Treasure Hunt and Mr. Rubbernecker has decided that next Tuesday will be the last one.  So all you Treasure Hunters, you have today and next Tuesday to hunt for that free stamp.  Don’t worry, I do believe that there are things in the works to replace the Treasure Hunt!  You can find out more info and the Designers who are participating in today’s Treasure Hunt on the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog.

Get this . . . . how cute are these little cupcake mice?  I’ve had this image for some time (I picked it up in the booth while working a show one weekend) and finally decided that it needed to see some ink.  Plus I thought I would start working on my birthday card stash.

SO Cupcake Mice

The image was colored with Copic Markers and the little chips in the cupcake (because it is chocolate chip) were highlighted with Glossy Accents.  To add just a bit of sparkle to the frosting a small bead of Crystal Stickles were added.

  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Baja Breeze and Basic Gray; BasicGrey Dasher

I hope y’all have a great day today and with any luck I’ll have a few more posts this week.

Animation from millan.netGood morning! I have to admit, that yesterday I hung it all up. I went down to the studio to work on a card and was working on a fabulous image panel. All of a sudden the phone kept ringing, the pups were running in and out, and after about an hour . . . I decided that I was getting no where. So, with no hesitation, I shoved everything to the side and turned off the lights. Which was a good thing, because Mallory rolled into the driveway not 20 minutes later. I spent the rest of the afternoon chatting with her and working on her computer.

Now I knew that I had to make a card for today since I fudged yesterday. After a dinner of pizza delivery, I headed back down to the studio once again. This time there were no interruptions and by golly . . . I finished a card!

Today’s Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge is hosted by Broni. She has challenged all of us to make a card about food. I think she put it . . . since we are going to be thinking about food chowing down on a big feast, why not? It may not have been that exactly, but the idea is close. We hope you find time this holiday weekend to play along with us. Make sure you check the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog for her exact challenge and don’t hold me to anything written here.

I thought about making a card with a chicken looking for Tommy Turkey in the barnyard (and I still may), but I decided to put the focus on the main course instead.

Tommy Turkey RN

I seem to be having problems with layouts these days, and decided to go with one of my favorites to use. I love to stitch on my cards, and this layout just screams for it. The turkey was colored with Copic Markers and then cut with Circle Nestabilities. I knew that I was going to use my favorite brown ribbon and all of a sudden it hit me to tie the ribbon with a button. I went digging through my aunt’s button collection, and found one that looked better than all the rest I had. Once I had the ribbon tied through the button holes, it wanted to hang down a little, so I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the back of the button to make it hold in place. Worked like a charm!

Have a great day! Smiley from millan.net

Good morning! Smiley from millan.net I’m still working on organizing, and promise that I’ll have pics for you when I’m done.  Even though it might be put away, things are still a bit untidy.  It’s amazing how rejuvenated I already feel.  You’ll see in a few days.

I did take a few minutes yesterday afternoon to finish up a card that I had already started.  I had to drop a few things last week to get ready for the Texas show, and this was one of them.

I just love these penguins . . . they are way too much fun!  I can’t decide if this one just fell, or had a little help.

Penguin Antics Face Plant

The image was colored with Copic Markers and then the snow was made with Tulip Puffy Paint with Polysparkle EP sprinkled over it while wet.  For the background, I embossed snowflakes in the same Polysparkle EP (which is hard to see in the picture).
I know black and white is not the typical holiday colors, but they just seemed to work here.

  • Stamps: Penguin Antics by Anna Wight from Whipper Snapper Designs
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Basic Black and Cool Caribbean
  • Ink: Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black and Distress Embossing; SU Cool Caribbean
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Tulip White Puffy Paint; Ranger Polysparkle EP; Venture Mounting Tape; Corner Rounder and Large Oval Punches; Ribbon; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber

Hope you have a great day today!
