Good Monday morning!  Smiley from millan.net Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I got some much needed stamping time in . . . as the next few days will be filled with laundry, packing, etc., to get ready for my trip to Texas.  Of course, I’m gonna try a sneak in a little stamping time too!

Speaking of Texas, on Wednesday I’ll be flying to Dallas to spend a few days with Bev.  On Thursday, Bev and I (along with Sharon and hopefully Joan), will be driving down to San Antonio to work the Rubbernecker Booth at the San Antonio Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo.  I hope some of you Texas girls come visit with us!  AND yes, I’m still looking for my

Speaking of Texas girls, my friend Anna Wight has a few new sets being released by Whipper Snapper Designs today!  When I saw the penguin set, Penguin Antics, I knew that was one I just had to have.  Here’s why:

Now it’s quite possible that this little fella had either not enough coffee with his Bailey’s or maybe too much nog with his Smiley from millan.net . . . Christmas Cheer . . . but somehow he has landed bottom up!  Okay, Smiley from millan.net along with me, but I just love the humor.

Happy Wednesday!  What a night I had last night.  I went with my mother, aunt and one of my aunt’s friends to see “Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming.”  It’s the story of The Sanders Family coming back to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church a few months after VJ Day.  Of course, it was a musical and all the songs were “old-time” gospel.  It reminded me of when I was a little girl staying with my great-aunt and she would take me to revivals at her little country church.  Spending time with family and friends – good times!

Now my stamping this morning has nothing to do with the show last night.  However, you could imagine Mrs. Shenk as a member of the Amen Corner if you so wish.  My card is actually for today’s Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge . . . AND . . . needless to say, the humor bug bit me.  Let me introduce you to Mrs. Shenk.  I believe she wants to be a close friend of Mindy, who you met yesterday!

Here is what I think is funny about this card . . . some subtle humor.  I ran the background panel through the Wizard, with the Friends Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.  Now look again at the sentiment . . . Boo Frickity Hoo.  The whole point of the card is friendship, being silly, laughing, giggling, everything you would do with your girl friends, and here we have cranky Mrs. Shenk going Boo Frickity Hoo!  Smiley from millan.net Once again, I slay myself!

  • Stamps: Rubbernecker Cartoon Collection Mrs. Shenk SKU:404-07 and Sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamp Company
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; Prism Majestic Purple; SU Basic Black
  • Ink: Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black and Archival Jet Black
  • Accessories: Spellbinders Classic and Scallop Circle and Long Rectangle Nestabilities; Copic Markers and Gold Spica Glitter Pen; Cuttlebug Friends Embossing Folder; Ranger Glossy Accents; Ribbon

I’m off to walk the pups and then run some need to do errands.  Have a great day!
