Good morning! What a few days it has been. I’m traveling with Dave, Mr. Rubbernecker, to the Heirloom Stamp Show in York, PA. It has been quite an adventure, and I thought I would share our trip with you via pictures.
When leaving Kentucky the other day, I happened to mention to Dave that there was a castle in Versailles on the way to Lexington. Off the interstate we went, in search of the The Castle Post f/k/a Lexington Castle.
We drove on into West Virginia that first day, making sure we the hotel we picked to stay at was not at an exit after our favorite breakfast spot

Yesterday as we traveled, there was a mission and a time frame that we needed to be in.
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Dave is quite the history enthusiast, and always has an interesting fact to tell me about our nation’s history. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide around Gettysburg. My final shot before leaving . . .

Looks like a wonderful trip, I love castles, when we lived in England we went to them on the weekends, so much fun, that place looks interesting!
Wow, Sherry! What great pictures!! It’s so great to be able to veer a little off the planned path and enjoy such great places. I especially love the photo of the pecan pancakes – extra crispy!
Ahh, I have been so out of touch lately with my blog reading that I didn’t even realize that you would be in the area. Dang! So sorry I missed you. Although York is a ways from me, it would have been well worth the trip to meet you and see all the great stuff at the Stamp Show. Beautiful pictures, too, btw. 🙂 I have been so busy, because I opened up a small store/web site. Still trying to stock it with some great goodies we can all use in our every day stamping. Great pics, Sherry! I especially like that last one with the sunset. It was so fun to meet you on Sunday at the stamp show in York 🙂 I hope your trip home was uneventful (unless you had more pecan pancakes… that would be a good event *L*).
