I Did A Challenge!

It’s been forever since I’ve done a challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I couldn’t wait to get into the studio this morning and decided I would take part in today’s Color Challenge.  Because I’ve been away from my ink and stamps for a while, it took me a little while to get into the swings of things.  After a couple of hours I finally ended up with this card.

CC192

The ornament was embossed with Queen’s Gold EP, masked and then the branch was stamped.  I water colored the ornament with SU Pacific Point and Certainly Celery.  After trying to work on the layout and papers for what seemed like too long, it finally hit me that I had some BasicGrey Fruitcake that had the colors I needed for my background.  The background papers were sewn to panels of Pacific Point and then mounted on a card base of SU Basic Gray.

  • Stamps: KK Originals Christmas Collection:  Christmas Ball SKU:57-15 KK and Pine Bough SKU:57-03 KK from Rubbernecker Stamp Company
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Pacific Point and Basic Gray; BasicGrey Fruitcake
  • Ink: Ranger Clear Resist and Peeled Paint Distress; SU Pacific Point and Certainly Celery
  • Accessories: Ranger Queen’s Gold EP and Inkssentials White Opaque Pen; Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Rectangles; Venture Foam Tape; Sewing Machine; SU Pacific Point Ribbon and Scallop Punch

I hope you find time today to be creative and don’t forget to check out the Rubbernecker Stamps Blog for information on today’s Treasure Hunt!

ok….does it seriously take you a couple of hours to do some cards? (Man….that would make me feel soooo much better if you’re serious!!) I always think that everyone else just “whips” out cards while I labor over this/that/the other.
I think Pacific Point must need the celery. Today is the first day that I’m thinking that I might be able to use this color (yesterday, while still cleaning/organizing my office space I was kicking myself for ever ordering it…..I like blues, but this one is just …….just!!)
